I realized that this could be my last summer where I’m actually free from anything school related since I’ll be enrolled into my Rad Tech program soon (I won’t be able to take any semesters off). So at the beginning of this year I decided to start saving up and well, I’ll be going to Japan this July! I’m super excited because this has always been a dream of mine and I didn’t expect to be going so soon. I didn’t even think I’d be able to save up for it. ^.^; (Feel free to share any tips or your experiences there if you have any!)
What are your goals or plans for summer? Anything you're excited for? I'm so over this semester and want to hear about summer-related plans and vacations.
Ooh ooh Japan! Very jealous. I hope that you have a nice time!
My summer in a nutshell: Going to Niagara Falls aka Toronto (still a maybe) Going to my usual anime con and crying in the artist alley Working out and swimming everyday Reading a lot of books (need to catch up) Going out with the fam I guess ... Watch anime and read mangas
... my god yeah ha ha.
That's awesome! Have a good time in Japan! And good luck in school
Personally, I'm graduating college on May 7th. I'm moving back home until I can figure stuff out and find a full time job and save money. Honestly, I haven't even thought that far ahead because I want to finish school
Wow, that's awesome! I'm extremely envious -- Japan is always somewhere I've wanted to go too, so I hope you have a great time!
My summer plans are basically to work, haha! I'm sure I'll have some breaks here and there, but I'm definitely wanting to start saving up again, and finish paying my mom back for my vehicle. I'm also getting my tattoo finished, but that's happening in May so it's technically not summer, but whatevs.
Oooh, Japan! That's so exciting! Congrats on saving up all that money, I'm sure you'll love it! Anything specific you want to do while you're there? Whereabouts are you planning to go?
I scheduled my summer so that I have something to look forward to every month (summer is actually my least favorite time of year since the weather here is dreadfully hot and humid and I can't stand it, so having something to look foward to really helps break up the hot sticky monotony): Last month I ran a 10k This month I'm seeing a Broadway musical In May I'm participating in some fun extracurricular stuff for my job that'll also help build my resumè June I'm participating in my first Tough Mudder July my boyfriend and I are taking a road trip to Colorado and spending our anniversary there August some more fun work stuff
I have stuff planned for pretty much the rest of the year but that's not the summer, haha
Thank you! Niagara Falls is definitely somewhere I want to visit sometime in the future too. And Canada in general. xP What con do you go to? Are you into cosplaying as well?
That's awesome, congrats on graduating! Took a peek at your profile and saw that you're a History major. Are you planning on doing teaching or some other kind of work?
What's your tattoo of? (:
I'm traveling with two good friends of mine and we're all into the street fashions and anime, so a lot of the time will be spent in Tokyo. Really looking forward to Harajuku and Akihabara. :) We don't have everything planned out yet, but I'd like to visit the countryside or at least get away from the city to balance it out. Visiting shrines is also a must because I have a thing for architecture, haha. Summer is my least favorite time of the year as well. I can't stand hot weather at all and I read that it's super hot and humid during July in Japan. I'm just trying not to think about it so much - - that's a problem for future me. Haha.
That's amazing that you have all that planned though! How long will your road trip take? Are you driving through any scenic routes and making stops or just going straight to your destination?
It's of a realistic carousel horse (just a half-body version, but it takes up, or will take up, almost my entire calf). I knew what I wanted, I just didn't know quite how I wanted it to look, thankfully my artist is outstanding and as soon as I saw the stencil I was like, 'YAS!'
Thanks! I'm not sure yet. I want to go to grad school and study Russian History or Deaf Education. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do.
Oooooh that sounds like so much fun! If I were going I'd do that, too - split my time between the city and countryside. I get super excited about architecture too but I don't know much about Asian kinds so it'd be awesome! Hopefully the weather will be kind to you while you're there!
It'll take about 22 hours to drive there. There will be two of us so we can alternate so it shouldn't be bad. We're driving straight to our destination, but on our way home home we're stopping in Denver for a night or two. We're gonna be hiking and camping the rest of the time though so I'm super excited ? Not your typical anniversary but we're excited!!!
Japan is so exciting - the only thing I would suggest is to continue to save money because it's REALLY expensive. I've been to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. This summer I am also going to Japan, but this time I want to go north to Hokkaido (Sapporo mostly). Where exactly are you going? I may be able to give you some tips since I go there pretty much every summer.
Congrats on saving up for a trip! I literally live in poverty and I wouldn't be able to go anywhere anytime soon (or maybe even never).
My plans so far -lose weight by going on daily walks -eat healthier (there's a high chance that I'm already diabetic) -eat less sugar -read more
Go back to CA( and visit the rents'), possibly take a trip into Disneyland since I haven't been there since I was 23( went there for my birthday).
maybe visit NYC at some point or another( I'm living in Buffalo for grad school currently, but I'm originally from California).
From July I have an internship until the 19th of August so I'll be in Buffalo working in said internship.
oh man i'm so jealous, i really want to go to japan someday~ i hope you have an awesome time there!! :' D
i was planning on drinking and partying my summer away in rome but alas my doctor said i can't drink anymore so i guess i'll party without the alcohol welp. :v at the beginning of summer i'm also going to spend some weeks in geneva with my bro and i'm probably just going to laze around playing videogames all day. though it's a great moment to polish up my french and get into the clubbing scene there so i'm looking forward to that.
um, maybe i'll travel around italy? i did it last summer (trains are cheap there) and just kind of wandered around at random and it was awesome. |D
