Whenever I autoprice my selling shop I like to switch it to a gallery before starting. Then I can take my time to sort the shop, looking for mis-priced items or stuff that has dropped below the price I paid for it.

With the new shops, it doesn't look like I'll be able to do that anymore. And as a matter of fact, we don't even seem able to sort the thing in any way, making it near impossible to find those 1sp "sale price" items. Being so limited in the number of items we can sell in the first place, I really don't want to be selling cheap things in my shop when I can fill it with more expensive stuff.

I would really appreciate being able to "suspend" sales in some way while I manage my shop, autoprice and whatever else.

[edit] I see that price sorting has now been added.

When I use the autopricer, I also change my shop to a gallery so that I can sort through it without making costly mistakes. I hope there's a way to bring that option back. Just being able to sort it after the fact is useless if somebody gets to my misprices first.

This would be so beautiful. I hate hate HATE seeing my items sell for 1 sP or some other ridiculous amount.

This would be kind of nifty for new achievement/genetech/bakery releases that always lead to mass inflation. You could hide your shop, and then take the time to look through and remove or reprice anything you don't want sniped.

Problem is, if you're not online during the first few minutes of the announcement, they will probably still get sniped.

Oh I like this suggestion as well - I use the AP to see things I might want to frag or something instead of actually sell.

- Sure, but I was just trying to think of reasons why this might be useful. If you do happen to be online, this would make it easier to stop your stuff from being snatched up for cheap.

Oh, and Recycle Beast, too! All of these reasons have contributed to probably 98 percent of my hoarding, since we never know what we're going to need when. This pausing would allow me to empty my hoards while still being able to enjoy site features to create or gain new and different items. I fully support this, and really hope it can be done without causing another server issue.

(this may be just me but is there a choice to turn your shop in to a gallery like there was as i would do this when i did not want things that were priced in my shop to sell.i would then autoprice it then turn it back in to a shop...had control of things that way ??)

i have no plans to sell any thing for now as we cannot change things or are in control like we was

THANK YOU! NHS... Think pink this October..

FULL SUPPORT, 2 reasons in the main.

First, I also sometimes like to autoprice, then have a few minutes to sort by price and make sure nothing valuable got autopriced to like 1sP or something awful.

And 2nd, long winded.. I posted this elsewhere then got pointed here:

I'd go gourmand shopping once in a while and right now I'm buying anything she hasn't eaten under about 35k MAX then stuffed it in my gourmand gallery. But I kept the prices fairly current so I could sort by price and feed her whatever was going for the lowest sP at that moment.

But now the only way to attach pricing to the foods is to have it as a shop, and if I price it in my shop... someone might buy it. DX

I totally support this idea for all of the reasons above. There are just many reasons for needing to suspend sales and it seems it shouldn't be to hard to have another shop category that would allow pricing without sales.

I have huge stacks of items in my monstrously large legacy shop (not an issue yet with any of my newshops) when any particular item became popular, there was no way for me to tell unless I had a ton of them and it took hours to sell. If I had shop notifications on my whole Events would have been a solid column of these.

Being able to suddenly take your stuff out so that it doesn't sell is market manipulation. It means you never intended to sell your items at the price listed and were warping the Shop Search to get others to drop their price unfairly. So to my mind this is a poor reason to allow shop/gallery switches.

What we're talking about here, and certainly my initial intent, was nothing like this.

However you do have a very valid point in how a feature like this could be maliciously manipulated. Someone could suspend sales, price everything in their shop for 1 sp, then go to town buying from people who autoprice following that. Even someone deciding to suspend sales because they're going away, or something else done innocently could cause problems.

The original ability to switch, at will, between a shop and a gallery didn't hurt the economy because the gallery prices were not included in the autopricer. So the solution to this issue, if its even possible, is not to include the shops that have suspended sales in the autopricer formula.

This would be so good when old retired junk gets useful and you had it in your shop.
