I'm looking for antique items to put in Evalise's TC.

Help would be greatly appreciated :) There are a few items in there now. I'm not sure how much I'm looking to spend.

hmm, well even though the rococo period was in the 18th century, my pet rococo might have some items that give that vibe.

Wasn't the colonial period from the 17-19th century?

haha, i hardly remember anything from history and art history. with regards to america, at least, the colonial period is considered to be between 1607 and 1776. the rococo period began in the early 1700s in paris; before it was baroque, which started around 1600 in italy. even though rococo was supposedly a reaction against baroque sensibilities, their aesthetics seem very similar to me (rococo is just a little more elaborate and playful).

colonial is quite different, generally considered more strict and proper, less florid and more practical, rustic even. darker colors were more common, and ornamentation was less over the top. that said, the incredibly wealthy definitely led lives of grandeur and some of the aesthetics are fairly similar with regards to poofy dresses and curvy furniture.

so basically anything that looks kind of fancy and old-timey should work :P my pet vintage rose also has some things like that i think (of course, the cameras and phonograph are more recent inventions).

maybe some things from the steamworks menagerie (again, more anachronisms as the menagerie's aesthetic is typically victorian which was the 1800s)?

and of course, anything from the colonial tea box.

hey there! Are we doing Europe? America? In any case, the sewing machine is anachronistic; the first one wasn't invented until 1709, and that style became popular in the 19th century. I would also add one of these guys:

Ooh, plenty of stuff in there! I changed the era. I figured there might be more stuff for the 18th century xD

I have the pet Roccoco, which is set in 18th century Paris which might work. She, is like the earlier pet mentioned named after the Rococo period, but the name was taken when I made her.

Her TC is old though.

otherwise:

any of the stuff from the colonial set would probably work too. I'll add more once I get back from class, but I'll leave for now.
