I found out from the forums that an email Newsletter was sent, but I haven't received it. Checked all possible folders, including Spam and Trash, and it's not there. I haven't blocked any Subeta-related senders either.
I'm using Gmail, and I think that might be the problem, because I have received these before when I had different email. I'm relatively new to Gmail, so if there's a setting that's preventing me from getting these newsletters, please let me know where to find it.
I use hotmail, always have had the same email address and didn't change it here on Subeta, and this is the first time I haven't gotten the newsletter. Unless it's still being sent out in small batches or something?
I can't think of a setting or something that would have prevented you from receiving it. Even if it didn't go to your inbox, it should have at least been in your spam folder. It seems like there are still a few things to tweak with whatever new system they're trying for these, because I've seen quite a few other people saying that they didn't receive it either.
posted here about the newsletters and their testing and everything, but I'm not sure if they're aware of how many people did or didn't receive it when they should have.
I've never gotten these news letters either. I use gmail now, but even when I used yahoo years ago I never received the newsletters.
Oh wow, and here's me getting two of them!! :D
I use live though. But yeah, I hope it gets resolved for you soon!

I used gmail and got the newsletter. This is not really something we can control/fix though. It was sent out and we really have no control on whether it got to you or not.
If you have a safe list, I'd add [email protected] to that since that is where the newsletter came from.
Here is the newsletter. As for the prize for the newsletter, try here and see if that works (it may not but it doesn't hurt to try).
And to repost the post from Keith about this: Coming in to second what Amber said - but sending out 10,000+ emails is hard. Sending them out in a way that doesn't immediately go into gmail spam folders (because you're sending out 10,000+ mostly going to gmail) is harder. Making sure that you keep track of who has opted in to what is even harder.
We've been looking to solutions to this outside of rolling our own, or using something like MailChimp which requires people to opt-in to newsletters (not popular - the majority of users wouldn't actually do this and then we aren't really reaching the goal of reminding people who haven't been around in awhile of what is going on / subeta exists). Rolling our own is what we've done in the past and you've seen the results - sometimes people get 2-3 of the same newsletter and frequently people get none.
Instead we've slowly been working this kind of data into systems to see how they work out. We've tested a lot of newsletter sites over the past few months (I've got hundreds of TEST emails in my inbox 😜) and we've settled on the one that we sent out today because it's a suite of tools that will work well with our future goals (replacing parts of the site like the ticketing system with a more robust and immediate solution) and fingers crossed it actually sends out to most users and goes into the correct places. It's great because it includes tracking on things like where people click, so we can see what works and what doesn't going forward 😄
tldr: There was a huge delay, we were working really hard on finding a good solution and have hopefully settled on one for going forward.

Just so you know, I got the newsletter 10 minutes ago! :P So apparently the new system does work, just some delay in receiving it. It probably is in fact a system that sends them out in small batches, since it's been 24 hours since people have first gotten them?
Thanks for the explanation, ! Fortunately I noticed the Newsletter content posted on the forums (wouldn't have realised I had missed it otherwise ^^) and even the prize link worked for me, so no harm done here.
Oh I am not saying you WON'T get it, just that if you don't get it, that is nothing we can fix. As Keith said, they have been testing various sites to see what is best but nothing is going to be 100% perfect when there are just so many ways to block an email. I am glad that this is still rolling out, so hopefully everyone will get theirs!
