So, I've finally had it with Carl. For a while now, he's been asking for some pretty ridiculous items. Usually in the 200k to 700k sP range. Today, he asked me for the following items:

- User shop price is 1.5 million - User shop price is 2.7+ million

Out of the 15 quests I can do every day, I generally have to quit 2 or 3 because the items he asks for are just too expensive. Now, if the items or sP he gave out when he was sleeping were decent, it might be worth an occasional risk, but right now, it's not.

Is there anything that can be done about the item pool he asks for, the item pool for sleeping rewards, or both?

Having to quit two or three quests out of fifteen doesn't strike me as too much of a loss. I don't think you can expect every quest to net you a profit (using 'you' in the very general sense). Also, aren't both those items used in fantine's bakery? (idk my baking level is about -10) if so, they're gonna be inflated af for a while.

those two items are, as far as i am aware, not used by any of fantine's recipes; they're just expensive. also, according to this thread over in quests/game issues he shouldn't be asking for stuff this pricy anyhow

There was a point last week or a couple of weeks ago where I was having to quit 1/3 to 1/2 of my quests because he was asking for ridiculous items. recently that hasn't been happening as much anymore for me, although yesterday I did get asked for a 400k and 100k item at the same time.

I have no problem at all quitting a quest here and there. I don't expect to be able to complete every single one every single day. But being asked for something outrageously priced - that I have a problem with. I didn't mention the quests I quit that would have cost me 150k-200k because those are reasonable requests (if Carl actually put out sleeping results that would be worth that risk). It's the fact that I'm being asked for items going for millions that's a problem.

Quests are perfectly fine as they are imo. I have to quit 3-5 of Carls quests regularly but still make a lot of profit from him and overall. Made more than 5M off of all except Sarah, Battle, Drills which has been the standard amount for a while (4-5m daily!) Which is a ridiculous amount imo, If anything quests need to be nerfed a little, Not adding more sP rewards. Those examples you gave are either new items or inflated due to the bakery, Which has nothing to do with Carl and everything to do with how users set the price.

I actually quite like that Carl will ask for unreasonably expensive things or not give you a profit occasionally, I feel like it's...in character? Like, he's a drunk scoundrel or whatever, so it makes sense that as a character he wouldn't always give you 'fair' quests. That's how I think of it at least!

I'm working my way through Carl now and personally I don't like having to quit his quests. He's always asking for 3-4 items priced at 1-5 million. RL is stressful right now so I'm in and out. I resent having my time wasted by bring up quests and having to quit them. It's annoying.

This got better for a little while, but yeah now it's back to asking for a few high priced items every day for me too.

Have the same problem. I do him all the time and he has never asked for really high priced items. Had a few today 1 mill +

i kept track today because i was curious! there were only really 2 quests I should've quit, but the values weren't super high (as in, 1m+ at least):

Twilight Plastic Flamingo (475) & Box of Sugary Sweetness (363,999) Cake Flour (99,881) & Finger Licking Cupcake (75,999)

everything else was around 300 - 40k sP, with 3 items hitting 70 - 140k-- but the sP reward from those combined with lower ones easily covered any loss i had when i dropped 130k on a pastry!

ANYWAY! i'll occasionally see him ask for something in the ~300 - 500k range, but it usually only happens once or twice a day for me-- which out of 15 doesn't bother me, especially with the pool of SubQ stuff he potentially gives out. i'm going to keep a better eye out though and see for sure, since i do my carl quests p religiously every day.

I've been asked in the past few days to bring him items in the 70k and up range, though it doesn't happen so much that I have to quit more than five times per day.
