Figuring out how to word this thread title was a pain lol, but here's the full explanation: when I joined Subeta years and years ago, I made a bunch of Tigreans and Felis that had sorta fantasy-ish names and a mythical, Tolkien-inspired world to go with them, since I was (and still pretty much am) a big fantasy nerd. I'm revamping MOST of my old pets, but I am keeping a few of my Tigreans and brainstorming some new lore for them.

I've only named one, my Glade Tigrean (also the first pet I ever made). When I was a kid I had this dream where I met some sort of nature spirit named Taasiám (honestly I'm not even sure how it's pronounced, senses are so weird in dreams that I think I saw the spelling visually more than I heard the name??) and since 10-year-old me thought it was so cool, I wrote like two pages of a story with one of the main characters named after him and like after reading HDM I decided it was my dæmon's name, etc etc. So it's a neat little name that's stuck with me all these years. I decided it'd be nice to have a nature spirit pet/character who could take on the name.

The only problem is that I have two more pets who need naming:

Iciere Normally I wouldn't ask for naming help in the forums, since you never know who's lurking to snag an open name before you can, but since I'm not looking for RN or RW names and am pretty flexible, feel free to post your ideas for similar fantasy names here! Even if I don't get any that I'm 100% satisfied with, it'd at least help with brainstorming.

If you have any other advice/suggestions I'd like to hear 'em too! My Darkmatter Tigrean was supposed to be some sort of sorceress and my Glacier Tigrean was an ex-prince of a kingdom that was annexed by a larger empire, so I wanna try to keep the spirit of those ideas with my overhaul. I'm still kinda stuck on how I imagine them, like whether they should have human versions or be actual animals or like some sort of anthro (which I guess is what I originally planned, based on the art of mine on Narcisse's profile that I'd forgotten about)?? Do I wanna keep all three in the same universe to begin with? What minions or TC items should I give them? And do I also want to keep my Reborn Tigrean in hopes of the art one day getting a revamp, since I DID have the most ideas for him originally??

Sorry there was a lot here to read, but tl;dr, ANY sort of suggestions you have for these fantasy pets (names or not) are welcomed! I'd like to spend more time thinking about these guys ^u^

I think Eyja is a cute name for a sorceress and is a real name. I love that you're so into fantasy, I'm a huge nerd for it too!

I dunno if this will help you with the name situation but I use nymbler to find names all the time. There's plenty of unique and non-taken names that can be found there. :3 also is kind of the queen of fantasy-inspired pets imo so maybe check out her pets for inspiration? lol

oooh Eyja is a really nice and unique name!! idk how much of a reputable source this one name site is, but it says the name "coincides with the Icelandic word eyja meaning "island", from Old Icelandic ey (which 'is also used as a poetic circumlocution for "woman", and in poetical diction ey is personified as a goddess, the sea being her girdle, the glaciers her headgear')." Which I guess wouldn't add much meaning for a darkmatter tigrean, but I always have the option of saving it for one of the hydrus or glacier pets I want, especially since it's also a real name v

ah thanks! I love browsing naming sites, so I'm always looking for good new places to search... even if I don't find a name there it'll definitely be useful!! I was actually also considering looking for a fantasy name generator for inspiration, but a lot are a bit more ""high fantasy"" than what I'm aiming for (& probably would've been better suited for the original versions of these pets)
