"I'm Professor Makshi, I'm the Deputy Headmistress, Head of Hufflepuff House, and Transfiguration Professor! --Whew, say all that ten times fast." She laughed, continuing "I'm very excited for this new term, and I can't wait to see what kind of fun we will all have! Please come to me with any questions, and enjoy your day and first week back to Hogwarts!"

Millie was so happy to be back at Hogwarts. She trotted into the common room and placed the streusel cake on the coffee table in middle of the room. Her grandmother made before Millie left her grandparent's house.

She tried to stay out of the way while the common room filled with other students. She spotted Millie () with her cake and smiled. Her sphynx cat Zanna sat on her lap.

"That cake looks great! Did you make that?" she asked. She wasn't entirely hungry after the feast, but there's always room for cake!

Millie heard her name said and she turned to Sadie. "Hi Sadie. Actually my grandmother made it. It's an old family recipe. Help yourself. I ate way too much at the fest" Millie giggled.

"Thanks! Maybe just a little slice..."

Sadie helped herself to a sliver of cake and settled herself back onto her seat.

"Did you enjoy your break, Millie ()?"

"Help youself. I think I may take a tiny piece." Millie said as she cut a small piece for herself. "I had a great break. I went to Berlin to visit my grandparents and I got to see my friend Emmett who goes to Durmstrang. Did you have a nice break?"

"Oooh, that sounds like fun! Does your friend Emmett live near the school or does he live in England? I didn't do anything exciting at all, but it was nice to be back home for a bit."

"He lives down the street from my grandparents. He actually took me to the zoo and on a picnic." Millie smiled. "Sometimes the best things aren't too exciting. It's nice to have downtime. I'm in introvert, so I know the importance of it".

"That sounds like fun!" Sadie smiled at Millie (). She wondered if there was more than just friendship there, but she knew not to pry. She barely knew Millie--or any of the other Hufflepuffs, for that matter. She hoped that would change.

"You'll have to tell your grandmother for me that the cake was delicious!"

"I had a really good time with him. I was sad when it was time to go but we write each other a lot through the term. I will. She she used to be a baker but retired. Now my mom is the career baker in the family. I love to bake as well but I don't think I'd want to do it for a living".

Sadie's face lit up. To be that close to that many fresh cakes!

"I bet I'd put on so much weight if I was part of your family. I can't get enough sweets," Sadie said to Millie (). "That's great that you two write to each other often. Do you have any pictures of him? I'd love to see!"

Sadie bounced up and down in her seat a bit, and her cat Zanna growled low. Sadie pet her lightly and stopped bouncing.

"My best friend moved away before I got my letter. I wish I could've told her about being a witch--she'd flip!"

"It's really hard not to eat all these sweets. Thankfully my mom taught me proper portion sizes and tried to keep the sweets out of the house as much as possible.

I do have a picture of him." Millie pulled out a picture of him watching the lions be fed. "That's him, with the dark hair and high and tight hair cut".

Sadie leaned in to see the picture.

"Oh, he's cute! How long have you two been friends?"

"Thanks. I think so too. We pretty much grew up together. He moved in down the street from my grandparents when he was 7 and I was 5. I happened to be visiting them at the time and we baked them a cake and we went down to greet them. We became friends pretty quick."

(ooc - that moment when your 13 year old RP character has a better love life than you...)

Sadie's stomach rumbled and she helped herself to another slice of cake. She took another nibble while she listened to Millie ().

"Well, I hope you get to see him again soon! I wouldn't want to be away from him for too long if it were me. Why is it that he goes to Durmstrang and not Hogwarts?"

[edit] Millie was sitting in the common room with Cleo curled up next to her. She had finished with her Arithmancy homework and started making notes to herself for the next term. She would like to become more active and she looked at a list of active clubs. "Potion club, book club, and Herbology club" she wrote in her script handwriting. She was already signed up for her usual 10 classes plus Ancient Studies. She was relieved her parents allowed her to drop the cello in order to become more active. She was already starting to think about her future outside of Hogwarts and she was thinking about becoming a Curse Breaker for Gringotts. "Maybe I should learn Gobbledegook?" she wondered to herself and added the thought to the list.

She looked up from her list, surprised by the emptiness of it. "I wonder where everyone is?" anyone else who sees this post
