So I signed up for the Dolly Dreadful (playful, Whimsical) strain, but it's been well over two days and nothing has has happened. Is this normal? Did I miss something?

You need to try to find someone to bite you. If you don't get bitten, it'll take three days to get infected. There's a thread here where you can post, and I think there's someone actively biting for that strain right now.
