I noticed that virus strains are really slow to progress this year. I heard that if you do VIP only and get no bites, it can take up to 3 days to get infected, so players are relying on biters more. -- I have had a really hard time finding biters for the strain I'm trying to get (Angler).
If people have to choose between biting others and collecting skins, then we might need some more reward/advantage for choosing to bite.
That gave me the idea that maybe there should be more achievements for biters? Right now, there is only one: giving 100 bites and getting the title "Biter." Maybe we could have steps up towards 100, like for the giving kisses achievement?
I'd like to see this as well. Maybe even achievements for each specific strain to encourage biting for less popular ones. My husband is also after a less popular strain (Fungus) and as far as I can tell there's no one biting with that one.
At the very least there should be more incentive to bite.
Agreed. In fact, there has been some discussion of this on another board in feedback, I really dislike this new waiting time for viruses.
I like the idea of more incentive. Some have suggested candy hearts for biting as well. I think it might be interesting if we added different kinds of bites, and made achievements for those (like we have for the kisses). Like, biting the arms, chest, head... different place ones. Biting different strains might be hard, since not everyone wants every strain.
I don't mind adding more to the achievement (upping it from 100), but I feel like different variety of achievements may be more interesting and desirable. We just more incentive/reward in general, so other, non-achievement options might be nice too.
Yes to more incentive to biting, even the chance of getting a harvested organ would be nice, but please please please don't add tiers. It's lazy on staff's behalf and it was always the solution to keep people participating in events, but no one ever has a good time. It just feels like a burden as everyone rushes to get through the next tier of achievements so they can relax and enjoy the event once more. Unfortunately biting achieves for individual strains wouldn't work just because people would then expect to eventually be able to collect every skin and achieve every achievement and it looks like skins aren't expected to be completely collected. At best I'd say an achievement for biting with a strain based on the year.

Fully support. I easily have over 500 bites done! Bring on the higher tiers.
Biting achievements for specific strains would be a fun challenge, too.
Too late to do it now "^_^ But why not for next year :)
I'd rather have something else, rather than more grinding.
It's lazy and boring. Achievements are not rewarding.
For the record, right off the bat, I don't think viruses need to be sped up nor do I feel like everyone needs the ability to collect all of the skins (not everyone needs everything ever). I def wasn't a fan of "3 hours = 12-18 hours btw it wasn't working right so lol sucks to be the guys who jumped first", but I don't think the speed of undeadification needs to change.
That said, considering there's only so many skins a user can obtain each year (another thing I don't feel needs to be changed, not everyone needs to get everything despite what they might think) I do think the grounds of "if I'm biting I can't be gaining another skin for myself" kinda goes against human nature (ie: we're a lot less likely to give instead of receive, unless there's something in it for us-- tax write offs, being friends, community service, feeling better about ourselves, etc) so I think there needs to be some change in the biting department.
I don't think achievements should be the go to route to go, all that ends up happening is people power bite in the beginning then as soon as they get their pound of flesh (pun intended) they go for their own new skins.
I'd be okay with hearts, but 1) they're already pretty easy to get in mass and 2) it doesn't make any sense because we're supposed to be people not pinatas. Honestly, I'd prefer the ability to bite others once we're in the 3rd stage instead-- perhaps the bites just aren't as effective (something a kin to 3 or 4 bites from a stage 3 or 4 is equal to 1 from a stage 6+)? So that way you could share the love while working on your own, opposed to "Well I just got it.. y'all got 30 minutes before I go after another strain myself".
Kisses didn't used to have economic value. I deplore that now they do.
I don't like this Suggestion, for much the same reasons as mentions. If it takes a user longer to get a Skin, then it is what it is, it takes longer. Since four new strains seem to be1 added each year at least, you will never catch 'em all. (and the Ash associated with zombies comes with a chainsaw).
I have another reason, as someone who endeavors to NOT become Unliving, in that we really don't need to make sure that more disease is spread around and more mindless ravening brainhunger is caused. If user's unnatural cravings for human flesh are constrained, well then, so they are!
If you wanted a zombie strain you "had to provoke" then denizens of Shadowglen by wearing a mask, the idea being that no every zombie is so uncivilized as to bite folks with no reason. If you (for whatever personal reason) want more bites than are currently incentivized, then you have reason to make friends with zombies with the strain you like. Making friends is good. I know that I have the ability to make Bhakoru-there's no personal Achievement benefit for me to give newer players one, nor should there be-and if I happen to have a spare slot I do not mind this.
i support this. or any kind of incentive really. why should i bite people for free? maybe i'll start 100k per bite business next year. 100k per bite is a good incentive.
I'd definitely like some kind of incentive for biting -- I do it anyway because there aren't any other virus skins I want and I like to help out, but I feel like throwing a handful of candy hearts for a bite would encourage more people to take the time to help others, especially if they have a rare/unpopular skin and have less competition for bites. I don't want it to be more tiers on the achievement, though; it just makes it harder for anyone who didn't start on it in the first year to catch up and it's an annoying responsibility for the rest of us.
