Week 1 - Puzzle 3

Week 1 - Puzzle 4
The first prisoner counts the number of a certain colored bandanas. The prisoner chooses green for the sake of arguement.
The prisoner declares that an odd number of green bandanas represents a certain colour, and an even number of green bandanas represents the other colour.
The prisoner goes first; the next prisoner in line can either observe that there is a same or different number of green bandanas in front when the prisoner counts.
If it is different, the prisoner must be green.
If it is the same, the prisoner must not be green.
The next prisoner in line then calculates the front number of green bandanas and compares it to the previous prisoner's status.
If the previous prisoner is green, and the current prisoner observes that there is also the same status of oddity or even-ness as the first prisoner declared, while in front, then he prisoner is not green.
If the current prisoner observes that there is a different status of oddity or even-ness as the first prisoner declared, then the prisoner must still be green.
This repeats, and you can save everyone but the first prisoner consistently.

Would it be:
Left to right (imaging they are the Olympic rings)
Circle 1: 8 in the main bit and 3 in the overlap with circle 2 Circle 2: 7 in the main bit, 3 in the overlap with circle 1, and 1 in the overlap with circle 3 circle 3: 6 in the main bit, 1 in the overlap with circle 2, and 4 in the overlap with circle 4 Circle 4: 5 in the main bit, 4 in the overlap with circle 3, and 2 in the overlap with circle 5 Circle 5: 9 in the main bit, and 2 in the overlap with circle 4
That makes the sum of each of the 5 circles 11 :)
Yup! Great job solving it. That was pretty fast :o
Just make a junk trade lot and ping/comment/sMail me. Or I'll buy anything off your WL up to 468,594 sP =)
I added another puzzle.
YAY :D Thank you :D Could I get a please :)?
The next one looks difficult haha! I love puzzles though! This is a great idea :D
EDIT:
This was so difficult haha! I hope I'm right:
Okay, this is my bad- I couldn't see who posted/sMailed first; so you guys both win =)
But! I changed the rules for next time; edited posts don't count! (so I can see the time stamp)

Added another puzzle; - Feel free to put up a trade for sP or just ask if you want any WL item up to 472,132sP!
:)
Omg puzzles, my secret addiction =w=

Solution puzzle 3 (I hope)

L H W M
V N K I
The sum of the positions of the letters in the alphabet in all columns (vertically, horizontally and diagonally) is 56
Congratulations! I knew the cipher was too easy >.<
I need to make them harder :x
And WL item up to 466,666sP or a trade lot of your choice =)
Likewise, another puzzle again.
Yes, thank you!~ In this case, may I have a Creeping Cracks Tattoo Sheets (Face)?
If I was able to solve the 4th one I would probably take a good few hours and papers to do it ;_;, good luck to those trying! >^<
oh this one is really challenging me :c 0?

I'm just taking a wild leap here but
At most 100 prisoners can be saved?
I will guess 50 prisoners can be saved. Now here is my very random logic, but it works for me and you don't know till you try. I was thinking if they cant communicate and they cannot see their own bandannas and there is no obvious pattern in the colouring then if they all guess the same colour at least half of them would be right and hence forth 50 could be savesed

You did however get a conclusion right, but that is not the most amount of prisoners that can be consistently saved.
Oh well it was worth a try anyways
[edit]
So I thought about it a bit more. Here is my second guess. Assuming the colours are split evenly and assuming that the guard starts at the back of the line (so they don't see who is being executed)
If the person at the back of the line counts the number of coloured hats and choose to say the colour with the odd number for example there was 49 green and 50 orange so he says green. The next person in line knowing the answer of the previous person and the colours of those in front then guesses etc etc. If all works out right and there are no people in the line who liked to skip math class I am guessing that 99 could survive.
I know what I need to figure it out but I just am not having a great time putting it all together haha. I was never the best at math anyways
Just formalize your answer ^^
yellow=A blue=B
X is defined as .. Y is defined as .. If X is .. and Y is .., then the prisoner should say A. If X is .. and Y is .., then the prisoner should say B. Therefore N amount of prisoners can be saved.
Some examples: If we have ABBB ... ... If we have BBBB ... ... If we have AAAA ... ...
So close! It might be easier if you do it on paper.
Nah I can tell you now I am to much of a dunce to formalize it. I didnt even finish high school so I must say I am impressed I got so close. But I have given someone a bit more educated all the tools they need to answer haha
