I realise that the viruses received during survival have stages and each stage has an approx time, I was just wondering if it would be possible for each user to have a timer somewhere that shows how long until next stage and completion of virus.
I have been on subeta for most of the past 24 hours waiting for my virus to progress to stage 8 and I thought they was meant to be 12-15 hours between each stage.
Please correct me if I am wrong or elaborate if this idea isn't possible.
I don't know if this has been suggested before now.
Any of you agree or disagree with this idea?
I'd give the idea two thumbs up if I still had thumbs….
It is frustrating to see other users, who started later, progressing and finishing sooner. I suppose it doesn't matter though, if we're all able to get 3 strains like last year. :)
No -- at least not at first. There were a bunch of glitches. Some people got tossed back to stage one after they hit stage 3 and stuff like that was happening, so maybe that's part of it. But there were people were at stage 8 yesterday. I signed up ASAP the first day, so I should have progressed today at the latest, but no signs yet.
It would be nice if there were notifications when each stage progresses, so that people can track their progression. That is if there isn't a way for timers to be implemented.
I support this idea; it think it would be very useful!
I don't think I've had less than 16 hours between each stage. Add a timer, for sure. But change the amount of time as a whole and how it works.
The initial wave should be the normal wait time/random timing (although I think it would be better shorter than 16 hours, say 12, that way it's for sure two stages every day ?), after those have progressed and unlocked in the wardrobe it should be filtered to stagnant, shorter times. A solid 10 (or less, hopefully) hours for each stage. Tack on 100k sP for shorter times, 8 hours per stage. Tack on an added cost to not have to bother getting bitten (some strains are SUPER hard to find biters for), like how the random option was done, for all older strains.
Use this as an sP sink. We'll give. There is probably no chance people could get even half of the strains in one year's event, so it'd most certainly be a yearly sink for a good number of users.
It would be rather good to have a way to keep track of how long until the next stage. I know I was surprised to see I hadn't changed all that much only to find my HA had moved on by the time I finished questing. It would be nice to have a way to improve change times too. There are quite a few skins I'd like to try for but the timing is such that I can only manage 3 per year at best.
I'm all for the added sp sink payments to speed up my infections tbh, like muerte suggested
I really doubt a timer will work though, simply bc the time before you get infected of a new strain wasn't accurate from the start, and still isnt afaik, I wouldn't be surprised if the timer between stages would be off too.
