Honestly never heard of it either. I can't even remember the last time I was on any kind of pet site, but I decided to change that haha.

I tried to get into MaraPets once, the graphics are really outdated and the whole site design seems to appeal towards kids. It's surprising that there are so many people online tbh, most pet sites with that quality can't even get 100 people online. So I guess it has some charms to it? I guess it looks like Neopets in its early days? I couldn't tell.

Really? I never learned to dress better. I don't dress bad, I'm just your comfort driven type person who's plain Jane. A shirt with jeans. All the time.. ok.. maybe leggings sometimes, but I don't like to wear them because of my large belly.

I have a lot of depression, anxiety issues. So, I never really had to confidence to dress outside a certain... type. Then, I started playing Subeta and experimenting with my HA, particularly makeup and got inspired.

Playing around with virtual clothes made me more conscious of colors that go well together, and helped me be more creative with layering clothes I never would have thought go well together. I don't care if it's nerdy. :p

like okay it was a combination of subeta + growing up + drawing (i look at a lot of model pictures for inspiration) but still, subeta def improved my fashion sense. |D

I find Marapets decently entertaining.

It has more flaws than highlights though. The HA system is not nearly as nice as it is here, there are so few items of clothing that are attractive.

They have a few designs and names that are identical to Neopets (IE: Tombola) The pets being able to die is an offputting feature but I've taken to just sticking them in the pet hotel for a day which tends to all their health needs when their stats are low. There is also a concept behind that which can be desirable, a deceased pet is able to be revived as a zombie.

It irritates me to no end that their daily pet zapper, the operations portal which is the only method that doesn't require collecting a map or instructions to access has so little success rate of getting any kind of result. At least with Elucid you get something most every time.

The economy is a bit up there but it's not difficult to accumulate millions of MP, the difficulty is in finding the GOOD clothing items, most of which are retired event items on the market, in the trades or in the auctions.

Overall, it's kept me more entertained recently than Neopets has in the past several years. It's got a great deal more to do and an envirnment that is more open to free chat and adults, . There is even a mature section in their forums though it costs 3 of their purchase necessary currency to get in. As a result, I've never been. I don't spend real money on avatar sites.

I think I still have a marapets account, although to be honest I can't even remember the username. I know I went on it maybe a year ago and I couldn't get anything to run properly. The worst lag I've ever seen in my life. And I found the whole site to be such a cluttered mess, it's hard to get around. It really feels like a bootleg version of neopets which doesn't help.

I think I still have a neopets account too, there was a point where I had something like five different ones.

tbh marapets always just looked like a neopets knockoff to me, i tried to play it for a while but i personally found the graphics really ugly and didn't like it

I play subeta a lot more than neopets nowadays, neo was great when i was a kid and its still a huge nostalgia thing to me but subeta is nice for an older audience i think (neopets spooky food vs subeta shadowglen items for instance) (i have an entire gore gallery and i love it)
