Hey guys,

I had to make an edit to my profile just now. I've always used the profile editor in the user dashboard rather than the one directly on the profile, but when I tried to copy and paste the CSS via the dashboard, it gave me a MySQL error in both Firefox and Chrome. I had to ultimately reset my profile from that page and now it's the basic profile again.

Is anyone else having this issue...? Can you not edit via the user dashboard anymore?

I don't think that page does much any more, I know you can change your profile via the blank section when you go to edit your profile though.

I remember having to edit mine twice for some reason--once on that user profile page and the other directly on the profile. If they function the same, it should be able to work? The only downside is that if I place it in a profile widget, to do any editing whatsoever, I'll have to clear the profile every time. At least I'm glad I decided to c/p the CSS in a word doc...

I'm not sure if the user dashboard one actually does anything. I may be wrong though. it makes reference to the subeta journal there which I don't think is even still a feature. I asked about it, she might clear it up for me.

you don't need to clear your profile every time. you can access it and edit it if you keep the box there. it's a good idea to keep it backed up in a text doc or a word doc anyway though, sometimes they get deleted by accident.

[edit] journals were removed in 2012 as far as I can tell.... hahahaha

Ohhh I just discovered that if you put the CSS in the profile section, it transfers it to the user profile page in the dashboard...though you can't erase it from the dashboard itself.

My CSS won't allow me to edit the boxes since the icons don't even show up--it breaks the whole page. At least I remember the order things came in so I can at least edit it when I have to reset.

God, I remember the journal days...LMAO

I actually figured out if you use the profile box on that page and select profile in the edit profile thing, it uses that code. I gotta redo my profile now from testing things out haha. I wasn't selecting the profile box before.

are you still getting mysql errors? here have been a handful of mysql errors going around lately in various things, I couldn't get it to give me any though.

[edit] fixed my profile, I haven't had a layout for it in a long time so I wasn't really sure how to add one on other than through the blank section haha. if you get a mysql error on it, it may be related to some other errors that have been happening recently. if it happens again I'd make a thread in the problems&bugs forum though :)

Thanks for all your help! I managed to get it back to the way it had been, or at least pretty close to it. My trick was to make several tabs open with the editing boxes on the default layout and then save over them one by one with edits. Not the most economical thing to do, but it got the job done.
