It would be nice if on the Forum index pages there was a search feature. I have no idea if what I'm about to suggest has been suggested before, and I'm not looking through a half-dozen index pages to find it. A simple title/topic search should be sufficient.

In the meantime, you can always search for things here it isn't the forum search we all want, but it does the job if you put in some work.

I note the non-function search you mentioned is indeed fatal.

I was unable to find this topic mentioned earlier which is why I ended up making a new thread. This is exactly why I want this function, to prevent unnecessary new threads to discuss the same thing.

The last suggestion has become more difficult since google tried to make itself nicer by removing the link to "Advanced Search".

Some sites do use google for their search engine and simply place a wrapper around the google advanced search feature to make it user friendly. If you want, I can have a look at how they do that and maybe write you a php page fragment that you could then just wrap up and add.
