I have rp'd in AGES, but I recently got a new character, and I want to actually use him.

The idea I have is that it's semi-sci-fi, part fantasy where people/creatures/things from all different dimensions end up piled into the same spot on a strange plane of existence that has bits and pieces of EVERYTHING dropped into it. Airplanes, spaceships, buildings of all kinds, giant ridiculous fantasy trees, and floating mountains. Some have lived there for what seems an eternity, enough that new generations have been born, having known nothing else, and other outsiders are still incoming. A few can control their hops between dimensions, but sometimes even they get stuck in this nexus of energy that seems to tie them all together somehow. Of course, existence isn't purely happy-go-lucky; resources are scarce, and the inhabitants viciously guard what they have. Some have taken to creating walled cities. Others remain outside, cobbling together transportation and raiding settlements as they pass through. Others still, high in their sky cities on the floating mountains, scorn the land and all who walk upon it, imposing their will as the 'true' rulers of the land beneath them, and forcing their laws whenever they should pass overhead. They claim an empire where there isn't one, and yet, people who disagree have a tendency to disappear, though no one has ever seen the sky cities become violent. Some believe the reason for the rift's existence is because of the crystal structures that dot the landscape, and more likely than not they aren't wrong. They emit a slight hum, and sometimes crackle or glow when conditions are right. Most of the time this heralds in a new set of outsiders, or a new addition to the plane depending on how bad the storm. And let me tell you, storms are common, with the biggest ones stealing entire chunks of continents and plopping them where it pleases. To those who can dimension-hop, getting in and out of the plane is even difficult. The energy from the storms often makes instruments go absolutely haywire, and performing a jump can not only just be dangerous, it can be deadly. A jump with no aim could mean entombment in an asteroid, or a miss so huge that there's no civilization around for miles, and the hoppers slowly starve when they run out of fuel. Even those that fold space with their minds aren't safe from the effects, and many empaths and telekinetics or others with mind-powers complain of ferocious headaches that interestingly also seem to predict the severity of storms, but generally leaves then unable to perform otherwise. Of course, this plane being so rich in crystals draws the attention of hungry outsiders that want to harvest them for their ability to tear holes between dimensions, and keep them open. Many have tried, few have succeeded, and none have successfully establish a full-scale mining operation until now. Most outsiders would essentially crack off a chunk and flee with it. Not always good for them. Being unstable, the crystals can react at any moment, and even if they do manage to complete a jump, they have been known to release their energy and explode, opening more rifts.

My dude, you are still alive! Oh man I haven't seen you in ages man, ages. I'm not sure if you remember me but I sure do remember you. I remember space truckers! If I remember anything its that you are the go to person for the radical stuff and I love you for it. Man its been a while since I had a forum RP here myself. I always find the idea of mix-matched dimensional stuff appealing. But you can totally count me in!

Hahah, yeah I haven't been too active here. LIFE STUFF. I totally remember you because you'd be the one who always would go for the ideas I pooped out. GOOD TO KNOW AT LEAST ONE PERSON ON THE SUBS IS ON-BOARD.

Yeah, life can kick a little hard sometimes and I haven't seen many of the big RPers in a while. I been mostly lingering for just 1x1 for sometimes I was having too much drama to maintain a forum RP. The only thing that change with me is that I'm in college now doing life stuff and so on but I'm still here. Despite everything I'm still here.

So anyway lets talk RP talk. So when you say dimensional rifts and all this stuff does this also include people/creatures form alternate timelines as well as others from different worlds and planes of existence. Not trying to force anything but it would be wild to have a knight in a spaceship fighting dinosaur like creatures...hell the idea of weird non-human creatures also appealing. I can see a ragtag group of rift jumpers jumping to and fro from one place to another finding resources or attempting to solve the mystery on why they are all here. I'm also deeply interested in learning more on why the Empire yearns for control.

Actually, the aliens that build up the empire are just assholes. There's really nothing more to it. They have a superiority complex, and were able to salvage the most of their technology and get it running again, so they decided to impose their old regime on what they considered a lawless land. It may be religiously influenced, it may just be philosophically influenced, but ether way, they see everyone else as peons and pawns. And of course when someone else comes in and threatens their hold, they don't like it, because they consider the plane of existence to now belong to them.
