This is kind of a quick question / advice. I am a person with some pretty bad anxiety. I attended college at a campus and couldn't handle being there, I'm bad at presenting in front of classmates.. This is why I have chosen the online path for now until I can get over this.. Even if, My work schedule changes very often and I probably wouldn't have the opportunity to get a set schedule due to staffing issues. Which is another reason why an online college for right now will help me out until they fix everything.

What I was curious about was if anyone has done an online college class? I want to know some options (aside from what Google has told me.) I try not to look at the reviews much, because some people rate them down because they failed to read the agreements, etc.. Or they put their personal problems into it, which isn't the colleges fault. Maybe some Pro's and Con's of each School you know of / have been to.

As for what I want to study. I have been on the fence between Graphic Design and Biology. Wanting to be a Vet Tech, also. I haven't made a clear decision as you can tell. But within this year I plan to get back into to college so I can do something more with my life.

My Second question would be; If I was able to be available to actually go to a campus college and not be online, would my credits from whichever college you have suggested, be able to transfer? (Which what I am hoping I understand is that they will recognize that I have taken such a course and not make me re-do it there.)

I greatly appreciate anyone's help with this. It's probably the biggest road block in my life right now. If you could please Ping me that would be really helpful. (I'll probably forget I wrote this at some point, haha.)

I tried online school because of my anxiety as well. First off, I'd avoid University of Phoenix. The guy teaching my psychology class insisted, even after I showed him proof otherwise (the DSM), that young children can be diagnosed as sociopaths. He was right and I was wrong, no matter what the DSM says. I hated that class because it was pointless learning from him. Plus I felt it was teaching false information to students who had very little experience in psychology (which was most everyone; it was a core class option). Anyway, yeah. Avoid them.

As far as credit transfers it all depends on the schools you go to. Each school has their own policies with transferring credits, so one college might be fine with your credits while another would say that the online school's teaching wasn't to their standards and decline the credits.

Research online schools, but also research campus colleges that you might want to go to. Find out what the campus colleges require with credit transfers. Then you can take that information and compare it with what each online school offers.

I've been to a private college, a community college, the private college again, an online college, and the school I got my AA from. The ONLY time I had any issues with my credits transferring was with the courses I took through UoP. Credits usually transfer without any problems. There are exceptions though, and knowing those will help you navigate the beginning of your degree better.

Don't shove off reviews altogether either. They are useful. Sure, there are bad reviews mixed in, but there are also good reviews and decent reviews that will tell you about their experiences with the schools in a fair manner. (Not everyone who shares a personal experience is unfairly painting the picture bleak. Even the bad reviews can be useful sometimes.) Don't just rely on "top X online colleges"-type articles either. They don't have the whole picture of the school to look at (the stuff you'll learn from research) and typically they have biases in scoring/placing the schools, but they can be good starting places for finding schools to research.
