Apparently, the tax random event was disabled by staff intentionally, and they also retired the achievements without any real warning, explanation or communication. For people that are trying to get all of the achievements that they can, this is a big disappointment.

And on a site where we are told repeatedly that SP needs to be removed from the site to help the economy, deactivating a random event that removes SP is just illogical.

Please, bring it back. Let us get the achievements.

it was disabled with the intention to add a tax to shop tills, so hopefully they just come through with the second half of the idea soon.

I don't see why it was taken away unless we're going to take away the vault storage. Maleria was just disabled two days ago? she took like 5k.

without any good reason for taking it away, I think it should be brought back. people like their achievements.

I can understand wanting the tax RE back just so the achievements are still available, although even as an avid achievement hunter, i never wanted those particular achievements. I hated and feared those random events and always tried to never have very much sP on hand just in case. But if the alternative is a shop tax...well, i'd rather have the random event back too, i guess. At least i can minimize the damage from that by continuing to keep most of my sP locked in my vault.

(Actually, i just loathe useless sP sinks like taxes of any sort. There's a reason i'm saving my sP and that's so i can SPEND it on all those other sP sinks that actually give me something i want in return. I don't need the site swiping my savings for no reason; i'll spend it when i'm ready, thanks.)

I'd rather have the Sebastian Phoenix random event than a shop till tax. Honestly, a tax on shop till sP is going to leave a bad taste in players' mouths.

I am in favor of either the RE returning or the tax on shop till/trades of SP only but not both.

It's emulating a part of the real world that 99% of people LOATHE. People come on here to escape real world politics and bullshit. At least the Phoenix random event is like...some magical guy randomly flying down and taxing you. It's more palatable in this imaginary world people are immersing themselves in. Phoenix is at least part of Subeta lore, unlike getting taxed on what you've earned in your shop by working at restocking (and possibly hand-pricing). Besides, real world taxes help pay for schools/roads, etc. What is this shop till tax paying for? Nothing. Might as well have it be Sebastian Phoenix, who, as I mentioned, is at least tolerable as a part of Subeta's world. Just my two cents.

I get your point since it is involved with subeta lore vs the real world but subeta still operates with an economy. We need something to take out SP from circulation otherwise sp will retain a lower value.

The amount of sP taken out of the system by the Sebastian Phoenix RE would be negligible compared to a shop tax.
