Alchemy Points, I just don't get it...

So I read about Alchemy Points and I just don't get it. Can someone help? Rhelex has read 550 books. I have gotten AP throughout that. I have created 2 scrolls,(which I don't know how to use) but when I click on pet, and scroll down to Scrolls it says Rhelex's Learned Scrolls.

So where are all the AP points he has gotten for all of those books? LOL! Sorry this all confuses me.
to use the scrolls you have to click on the scroll in your inventory and move it to the scroll library, and then create a scroll set. pets don't "learn" spells anymore, so that page is outdated and should probably be removed. instead, the pet's number of alchemy points determines how many and which scrolls they can have in their scroll set.
Oh ok! Ok well I already created a scroll set. I have 2 scrolls in there, but it says Current AP Value: 0?
are you sure you put the scrolls IN the scroll set? you have to check the box below each scroll and click "edit set" and it'll say "total AP cost: __"
No I did not! I thought if you checked that box, you remove the scroll from the set. D'oh! Ok I checked them. It says 8 AP. Now what does that mean? Is that what it is going to cost everytime I use that set? Do you use the scrolls once and they disappear? Sorry for all the questions. :/
no, they stay there. 8 AP just means your pet has to have at least 8 alchemy points to use the scroll set, but the points don't get used up or anything.
Ok! One last question... How can I see how many AP points me pet has? Is there a way? I can not thank you enough Frenchi for all of your help. I really appreciate it!

I think the thing you're missing here is that 16 intel = 1 AP. :)
Looking at your pet Rhelex, I see he his 617 intelligence. 617 / 16 = 38.5625, which means you have 38 AP. You'll get 39 AP when you reach 624 intel (39 * 16 = 624).
You only 'gain' the AP when reading a book, though. Don't worry, you can't miss it! But if you find yourself over the threshold, and without the AP, read a book to your pet and you'll get any AP you're due.
