This lesson contains a ROLEPLAY assignment.

Aderyn picked up the marble professor Makshi had handed her and looked at it closely. It was a plain glass marble with a gold cat's eye in it, and the gold color reminded her of a statue she'd once seen made entirely of the precious metal. Deciding that a statue would go perfectly with their theme, she set the marble down and pointed her wand at it.

"Auruverto!"

Her frist try was less than successful. Rather than the golden fairy statue she'd pictured, she got a cheap, plastic lawn ornament, not unlike ones she'd seen in muggle front yards back at home.

Frowning, Aderyn took a deep breath and tried again, holding onto her intention tightly this time as she spoke the incantation.

Her second try wasn't too much better than the first - it was still a lawn gnome, except it now it was purple and green and giving off a strange smell. Her third, fourth, and fifth tries brought just as little success, and she huffed as she pondered what the problem was. Raising her hand, she waited for the professor to come over. Once she did, Aderyn posed her question.

"Professor, is transfiguring an item into something made of a precious metal - like a gold statue - possible, or are there enchantments in place to prevent that sort of magic so that witches and wizards cannot conjure their own wealth?"

Itachi was handed and marble, he picked it up and examined it trying to understand the marble as a whole. He then set it down and went to do the spell, but was set back on what to make. He pondered for a second and thought he should make a bottle for like a center piece so people can set flowers in it. He then picked up his wand and did a flick this way and a flick that way pointing at the marble. A jet of red light shots from the tip of the wand and hits the marble on the edge, the beam surrounds the marble and from the bright light comes forth

He is happy for about a second, but immediately mad the next. He turns toward where the teacher is standing and asks "Can I get a new marble I think I know what I did wrong and I know how to fix it." The teacher walks over to him and hands him a new marble. He takes it from her this time setting it in what he thinks is the right spot on the table.

He picks ups his wand this time on one flick towards the marble and pointing right at it. But at that moment something catches his eye outside and causes him to change what he was thinking. The red beam then shoots out to the top of the wand and hits the marble just shy of the center and from the light comes an explosion the covers 5 ft in all directions in

Itachi sits there in his glitter covered robes, then has an idea. He stands up and announces "This is my new attire."

Placing the marble into her hand she gazed at it, as if it were a crystal ball that could tell the future. With no inspiration coming at all, she opened her book to page 10 and read through the tips.

She pondered on what she could transfigure the marble into. Then it came to her. Her room was very bare and colourless and could certainly use a nicely colored mat on the floor.

Picking up her wand she swiped it quickly through the air pointing directly at the marble. A brilliant jet of light shot like a comet from the tip of the wand, exploding into a vivid burst of pink light around the target. "Mmmm, she though to herself. I thought the light should have been red, but pink is close enough surely."

When the brilliance of the light had died down she gazed in amazement at what she had created. The colors were perfect for the mat she had in mind. It was a pity that she had swiped the wand the wrong way and instead of a mat, had created a cat in a hat.

Gryffindor

Kendra sat in her chair, staring at the marble on her desk. She took inspiration from the teachers' story and decided to turn the marble into a mug. She pictures something wonderful and festive with a bright blue color that resembled Cinderella's dress, then flicked her wand up and swiped it in a circle through the air before tapping the marble.

She had her eyes closed and was almost giddy at what the results would be, but when she opened them she was disappointed to find a plain white mug with the text " Dad" on it.

She sighed and just as she was about to lay her head on the desk, she heard someone calling her name. She looked this way and that, but could see nobody talking to her, and then she heard it again. But this time it wasn't someone calling her name, it was someone screeching inaudible words at her. It was the mug! She grew nervous and put her hands over the mug so that its sounds were muffled, then grabbed her wand as quickly as she could, swiped it through the air and turned it back into a marble.

She slowly opened her hands, hesitant to let it speak again if it hadn't worked, and was relieved to find that it was a marble once more. She laid it back on the desk and opened her book to find a suitable wand motion that would work for her. She studied a few before choosing, and then concentrated on turning it into a goblt once more as she flicked her wrist upward, moved her hand to the left in a spiral motion, then pointed it at the marble as a stream of bright light came out of the tip.

She smiled as she stared at what the marble had turned into. It wasn't the blue goblet that she wanted, but it was a goblet nonetheless. She picked up the silver glass and examined its pink hue and aura, putting her other hand through it to see if she could feel it (she could not). Happy with what she had done, she asked the teacher for another marble so she could create more stuff for the ball!

Kendra Krum | Hufflepuff

Sauvage slouches in her stiff wooden chair, looking over at all the other students and their creations. Without an inkling of what she wants to turn the marble into, mostly because she knows that she sucks at transfiguration, she twirls her wand and poof!

Guess that's what happens when you don't put proper thought into it...Oh, well.

Sauvage Chevaux / Hufflepuff

She knew exactly what she wanted to make for their upcoming Fairytale ball. "Talarium santator!" The marble began to swell and the browns turned redder as Poppy flourished her wand with a zig-zag movement. [item=Shake It! Santa Toy] She couldn't help laughing at the Santa doll now dancing on her desk. It was a far cry from the delicate Swan Queen ballerina centerpiece she had envisioned. "I know what went wrong," Poppy exclaimed suddenly.

"Talarium sal-tator!" This time she made sure the incantation was right and she copied her prior wand motions to a T. Poppy sighed. At least she was making some progress.

Poppy, Slytherin

Megan set her marble on the table and pulled out her book to begin her work.

"When transfiguring one object into another, you must have deep concentration and be able to block out distractions." she read, "If one has too many distractions you may end up turning a rat into a goblet with feet and a tail and that will not be acceptable for any magical lesson.

"Take your wand, point it directly at the object you wish to transfigure. Now picture in your mind, very clearly, what it is you wish to change your object into. Once you feel you have accomplished this swipe your wand quickly through the air to point at your object while saying the inactivation "Ilviscio!""

Megan pushed her sleeves up on her robes slightly and examined her marble:

"What could this become?" she thought to herself, looking closer at the flecks and imperfections. Taking the colours into consideration she set the marble back down and closed her eyes to think. In her mind she imagined the halls sweeping with curtains and drapes in beautiful reds and golds. Confident that she could produce her charm correctly she took a deep breath, opened her eyes and with a swipe of her wand that the marble on her table she said "Ilviscio!" with great conviction. Upon her table where her marble had been now lay a lovely fabric:

Megan smiled widely in delight at her ability and picking it up, examined her work further. It was a soft fabric that wasn't large but not on the side of useless either. Raising her hand she called the professor.

"Professor Makshi! I'm not entirely sure what you can use this for but I hope it helps!"

Megan/Hufflepuff

(OOC - I don't wish my character to come off as a know-it-all; Transfiguration tends to be her best subject as she is an Animagus and she very much enjoys practicing outside of the classroom to ever make her technique better.)

After Rox received her marble, she picked it up carefully, turning it round and round in her hands, unsure what to do with it. Well at least she knew what she had to do, but she wasn't sure what to create, there were so many things she could try, but the professor had said something about it being useful for the ball.

She looked at the marble again . Even though it was her favorite color, it didn't feel right for a fairytale themed ball. She grabbed another book out of her bag, she was sure she had seen a spell inside that one that was perfect for this occassion. She flipped the pages, until she found what she was looking for. "Colovaria" she said, while thinking of a bright silver color. The marble changed into . That's better she thought to herself, looking at the silver marble that was in front of her right now.

She flipped her wand above the marble, trying to change it into something useful. The marble didn't do anything. She tried moving her wand the same way again, the marble started to move. She tried to grab it before it could fall on the ground, but she was too late. The marble fell on the ground and cracked.

She placed the marble back on the table. She wanted to try something else. With a flip of her wand above the marble, she changed it into . That wasn't really what she had in mind at all, but at least it was still on the table this time and it was still the right color.

She moved her wand above the table again and the bauble changed into . She looked at the banana that was in front of her this time. Totally not something she had in mind and not useful for the ball in any way either. She looked around and saw everyone was having difficulties with the marble. At least her marble had changed, even though she wasn't really happy with the change.

She decided that she wanted to try one more time. She was sure that she would be able to change the marble into something useful. She moved her wand in a different direction and tried to move it a bit faster than before. She heard a soft sound and in front of her on the table was a . She looked at it, proud to have made something that was so pretty. Even though it was useful for the ball, she wanted to try one more time, confident that she would be able to make what she had in mind now.

She flipped her wand above the tiara, faster than she had done before. She heard a sound again, saw a light in front of her, she had to blink because of it. When she opened her eyes again in front of her on the table was a . She was sure one of the band members would be able to use that during the ball.

[Rox-Gryffindor]

Max took a marble from Professor Makshi. He looked at it. So he had to create an object for the ball preparation. Hmmm Max thought for a moment. What could he turn this marble into. The an idea poofed in his head. He took out his wand and took a deep breath and said the incantation.

"Inidius"

If he did everything correclty there should be. To Maxs disappointment there wasn´t an Enchanted Rose but a...

Well at least it was entertaining.

Max O´Conner/Slytherin

Hannah picked up the marble and studied it. It seemed plain at sight. She wondered what to say, "Valverio!" said Hannah to the marble waving her wand in a circle. That's not really pretty is it? Its just fog and we wouldn't want students to trip into each other on the dance floor, thought Hannah to herself. She waved her hand and flicked it saying, "Alhurmeroria." "Stickers, seriously?! I'm going to keep trying until I can get something I can help use at this ball!" said Hannah determined. She waved her want vertical and said, "Magistreak!" Hannah saw the Monkey and started laughing to much, as the monkey went around the corner. It started throwing and retrieving his heels. She got him to stand still for a moment holding a banana from her lunch box her parents had gotten for her. "Sebutrorifur!" Finally Hannah was happy with her result and smiled."I hope it tastes great to those who try it!" thought Hannah to herself.

Hannah, Ravenclaw.

Sam looked critically at her marble. It was a very pretty swirled green glass sphere. Maybe she could turn it into a chalice or a pretty vase. Tapping the marble sharply three times with her wand she said, "Vitrum Vitream!" commandingly, while trying to visualize her desired result. The marble shuddered then began to expand, quickly morphing into a bulbous green vase Not quite the elegant stem vase she was hoping for, but nice enough not to try her luck further. It would look quite lovely once some flowers were in it.

Gwen takes the marble and gulps; she is not the best at transfiguration. The marble is a dark green in color; it looks almost as if it is made from Jade. She thinks to herself, wondering what to make, and then she remembers the Dollarbird, a pretty green-blue bird. A statue of one of those shouldn’t be too hard.

Putting the marble on the table Gwen takes up her wand. She waves and flicks her wand… “Avis Honorinius”

Splat – oh no!! Her marble turned into a pile of goop! That definitely did not work. Gwen raises her hand, “Professor, may I have another marble?”

Given another marble Gwen decides to try again. This marble though is the color of darkness… maybe the dark color will work better.

Taking a deep breath she waves her wand again, flicking gently when she needs to… “Avis Honorinius”

A bird appears!! Gwen makes a gasp of surprise… well it is not a statue but is it pretty.
