So say someone blocks me. What is actually affected? Obviously I wouldn't be able to go to their profile, but could they still go to mine? Can they see threads I make, and could I see ones they make? Are comments they make on the forums not visible to me? (and vise versa) I would assume this would cause a problem with holiday boards and games (___the person about you) What about shops? Could I no longer buy from their shop if it appears in the shop search

If you block someone, they can't go to your profile. If someone blocks you, you can't go to theirs. But no matter who blocks who, neither of you can talk to each other. If you block someone or someone blocks you, you can't see each other's forum posts but you can still see each other's threads I believe. As for shops, blocking does not affect this. You both can still purchase from each other's shops, this is something people have complained about in the past.

The answers to most of your questions are available in the Rules, a link in teeny tiny font at the very bottom of each page of Subeta. It's under the section called "harrassment".

Blocking is one-way. If they do not block you back, they can see your profile and your posts etc. If you choose not to block someone back (and this is at your option as blocks are not mutual) it might pay to be sure to not say anything that might look like an attempt to talk to them. I always make a point to respond directly to someone else's post myself.

Blocked user's threads will appear in the "most recent" part of any subforum, but you won't know who made them if you click them from there and will just be told you can't post there in an error message. If you go to a subforum and can't Find that thread, it's because it was started by someone you blocked.

You do not see them as a "user above" so the person above them gets an additional dance/treat from you. OTOH you don't get treats from folks below you who have blocked you, so it's overall a wash. If you are tracking each and every treat/dance then you might not find this as fun? This isn't a huge deal unless you have blocked/been blocked by lots of people because those threads draw a larger section of the usual Subeta users than conversations. The odds of being a "user above" for your blockee/blockers is not as high to start with.

Someone blocked me because I didn't agree with their suggestion on the suggestion board and they took it very personal. I didn't want to accidentally do something that could be considered "harassment"

I dunno if they have effectively prevented you from saying anything about the subject since it is usually not legit to start another thread if there already is one that exists. You may need to file a Ticket in Help.
