So I finally finished my first CW (that I made myself :D), and I have a few questions...

  1. How much does it cost for a corset type item?
  2. What layer would it be under (chest or overchest?)
  3. When the CW submission form mentions a price, does it need to be paid right then, or when the slots are filled? (I see mentions of both 4000CSC and 1500CSC)
  4. About how long does it take to get approval/denial for a CW when its first submitted?

  1. Pricing depends on the size. Backgrounds are the most, rings are the least. (I'm not sure of the exact price now, I haven't made a CW since the new system.)
  2. Overchest.
  3. You can front the entire cost yourself then have people with slots pay you, they can pay for slots, etc. There's no wrong way to do it as long as it's paid.
  4. Two days to two weeks. There's no set "time frame." It depends solely on the queue that the CW admins have to go through.

I think I get the slot payment thing... Say a thing costs 4k for the entire batch, do I have the 10 people (I think thats how many per batch? or however many people) pay me for the slots, then I pay the 4k (and keep the profit), or do I put the peoples names in a list and they get an event to say "Please pay so much CSC"?

(Ive only bought one CSC kinda like the second way, and that was when CWs were still a new thing)

You could put a corset in the Chest layer too, it's kind of up to you (I know sometimes gowns go in Body vs. Chest, and obviously sweaters would probably belong in Overchest but I think corsets would be fine in Chest if you would prefer). There's a "Vests and Corsets" section in the 4k CSC category, so that's what it would cost. If you pay the 1500, you pay it yourself and you get a single copy. Then you can set however many you want to sell in your CW shop.

If you want to slot people, there's a second page when submitting where you would fill in the usernames and your slot price, and then everyone gets a ping to pay for it. They'll get their copies automatically when your item gets approved and you'll get any profit there might be.

So the 1500 is if I only want there to be one copy for myself? (and if thats the case, does it have to go through the approval process like any other CW?)

And that makes sense to me. I shall now plan my evil plans, and...things like that XD Thanks!

yep, if you just want one copy for yourself the 1500 option is probably your best bet. it still goes through the normal approval process, which can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. after it gets accepted you can also choose to sell more copies in your CW shop, but you don't have to. you do earn the profits if it sells, though (so if you sell it for 500 CSC, you will earn 100 CSC for each copy sold). and i agree with darkrai that it can be submitted as a chest layer item; overchest is mainly for coats/jackets/vests, and chest is mostly for shirts/corsets/sweaters/dresses in my opinion.

Yeah, that's basically how it goes c: summed it up pretty well already, but you can sell more copies if you want, once you pay the 1500 (you don't have to pay anything for them, you'll just earn the profit off of each copy sold)

I think I need to back away from GIMP...It took me about a week of tinkering around in it to get the first thing done, but now...Maybe an hour for the 'actual item' (that an HA would wear), then however long to make the little icon for it.

Evebn if neither gets accepted, at least Im practicing :D

The 1500 price is for if you want to submit it directly into your cw shop, You'd pay 1500 csc to get a copy for yourself then it would go into your shop and be set at whatever amount of batches you decided to make of it. Like say you only wanted 20 copies to be available then that is 2 batches so the remaining 19 copies would be available for you to price and put up for sale in your shop and you'd get the profit off each copy you sold from your shop.

Now Im confused...What is the 4000CSC price for then that I saw listed on the submission page? Is that if I ask for slots for the item (like I am with one I finished with)?

The 4000 is for a completely public batch, 400 for ten copies that people are slotted in for. If you want a profit, you price the slots higher.

Yes, 4000 is the total cost to submit a batch through taking slots from other people, So let's say you open a board and start taking slots for an item. If you price it at 400 csc per slot but don't take a slot for yourself on the first batch then that would equal 4k in the end which would cover the cost to submit it through the slot method and to do that you would assign people's names to a slot in the cw submission area then they would get a ping to pay for their slot, Once everyone paid then the item would be submitted for approval, Once approved the item would go onsite and you'd receive any profit there might be. If it is denied then the cw system automatically refunds csc back to the people who were slotted.

Since you'd want to have a slot on the item yourself you'd need to at least charge 450 csc to cover the cost of submitting it for 4k and to cover your own slot on the first batch. 450x9 = 4,050 csc so you'd get 50 csc in the end after it was approved, I've left out the 10th slot as that is your item slot. If you'd want anymore profit then that then you could price your item at 500 csc...Since you reference a corset piece here, I can say based on the cw market and how prices tend to run that people would pay 500-600 csc but it also depends on how the item looks and how well people feel they could use it.

Another important thing to remember is that most folks want items that aren't going to be worn by every person on site so a lot of cw releasers have limited clothes and such to 1-3 batches but some still occasionally release an item as unlimited which just gives you the option to release more in the future..Like say you were doing a seasonal item and wanted to release 2 batches this year then 3 next year...You could do that because you didn't put a limit on your item. If you state on your cw selling board that an item is limited to 2 batches for example then you have to stick to that, You absolutely cannot release anymore then what you've stated for a limit as it is against the rules and considered scamming.

I think I finally understand it now XD.

Id likely do the unlimited release thing through the CW shop, but then again I might not. Depends on how things work out I suppose. Thanks for the help ❤ The same to you

At the moment, the stuff I would likely need help with is on the art side of things. While the item bit itself seems decent to me, the icon of them...Well, in one case it looks good (but maybe not Subeta-worty), the other is just kinda BLARB XD

<--thats supposed to be one of those little capsule things you get out of a coin machine and has a little toy in it for kids...Id say it really needs some sort.

I'm afraid I am no good on the art side of things, I either commission folks or ab auctions of pre-drawn items from other artists lol.

I can tell you that those won't pass as subeta quality though and also you need to remember that the icon needs to accurately represent the item or it will be denied for that too, Hope that helps a little bit at least.

Doing the CI is a pain in the butt xD

the Ci part was mostly a 'spur of the moment' idea. I have another idea for the first one,but it comes out kinda wonky (if I could scan something I draw by hand, that would be easier. But can't, so gotta make do with the mouse IM using).

As a kinda side-note...About how much do you pay out for one item in the commissioning/autobuying of stuff? I know there's differences based on who makes it and what it is, but maybe a general idea if you don't mind saying so?

(and would i be able to get a CI made by someone else who knows what they're doing to go with the CW I make?)
