Okay I adopted a Havanese Mix from the shelter who had an odd toe, turned out it was fractured and has been for a long while. The shelter I got her from never tended to it before she was adopted, clearly. They say that she had bit an animal control handler and put her in "rabie confinement" for a while. She never had any.

Fast forward to now; they're accusing my mom and I for abusing my dog and they're under the influence that they didn't know about the toe. And they're threatening to take my dog away if I don't get her checked again. And my family is now banned from the shelter too.

Then if they go through with their threats, what's going to stop them from taking my other dog and my birds?

What should I do? I'm scared

[edit] the officer came and said that they're not allowed to threaten me about taking my dog away. Also to go to another vet and ignore the shelter.

I feel a bit better but still upset.
