A shiny new thread for the new year!
Unique is the original no-focus cult, and has been around for quite a while (May 2009)!
Even though this topic is one for Unique, we invite anyone to chat with us here - member or not. :) We have found that playing Subeta is infinitely better with a close-knit group of friends, and we invite you to chat with us here and see for yourself why we have been an active and successful cult since opening in 2009!

This is because we have an incredibly friendly atmosphere without drama, and want to make sure that each new member is a right fit for Unique's family.
It is important that we mention that we are looking for active and friendly users that want to interact with us. Unique is not a cult that cares about how many members we have, it is definitely a matter of quality over quantity for us. Because of this, we do have a rule for members regarding activity, which is posted in a few places on our website. If you are considering Unique as your online home, please do take into consideration what is required to be considered an active member prior to applying. Click here to apply!
Unique does allow multiple cult memberships, as long as the other cult is a FOCUS cult (HA, battle, pets, art, etc)
As we mentioned before, Unique is a family that isn't interested in the quantity of members but rather the quality. Because of this, we only accept applications every few months in order to allow time for our members (new and old) to get comfortable and get to know one another.

Being a member of Unique signifies your acceptance of our rules. Failure to abide by the rules can lead to action up to and including banning from the forum and/or cult!Cult Rules
1. Being an active member of Unique entails being an active member of our offsite forums. We do remove inactive memberships on a regular basis. Look to the bottom of this post for more information on what is considered an active membership, and why we have this rule!

Treat your fellow cult members with the respect that they deserve - Unique is a calm and friendly environment. Trolling or disrespectful behavior towards other members will not be tolerated.

Please show tolerance to your fellow cult members. Though it should go without saying, all members should show courtesy to each other even if you have a different view. Different does not always mean wrong.

Please be sure to remain polite and constructive when considering new member applications. Failure to do so may result in your no longer being able to vote on applications.

Should you have an issue with a member, please talk to them about it. Too often, we will let things stew and that never ends well. We need to be able to talk to each other and sort things before they get out of hand. Please discuss privately via the forum PM system or sMail - the rest of Subeta doesn't really need to read about it! ;P If you would prefer to talk with a staff member about it, or have mediation, please do not hesitate to ask Mieke or Silvy, we would be happy to help!

Please be sure to read all of the rules for events and activities hosted by staff to ensure that your entries/submissions/participation are counted. Failure to read and comply with the rules will result in disqualification from the activity.

To avoid confusion, if you change your Subeta username, please post the forums your new username. Failure to do so may result in removal from the cult.

In order to eliminate confusion, Mieke and Silvy will post on a locked topic on the forums when a member is no longer with Unique. We will not post a reason as to why they are gone nor will we provide any further information to the matter – so please don’t ask. Also, please do not ask the former member why they are no longer with us, either. If they want to share then that is fine, but it is inappropriate to ask them.

Please refrain from publicly complaining about Unique, its features, its members, etc on Subeta.
Active Membership
1. Being an active member of Unique entails being an active member of our offsite forums. This is where our activities, announcements, chatter and more occur - and it is the heart of the cult. -
To us, joining Unique is like becoming a part of the family, and we do not take new additions lightly - we have an intensive application process that shows us who the applicant really is, and we take great care in ensuring that each new member will be a good fit with the existing family. With such care being taken in the application process, it goes without saying that we wish to interact with all of our members and get to know them. The only way to do this is to chat with members and to participate in events. In order to accomplish both of those things, usage of the forums is necessary. ;)

For the reasons listed above, each member is expected to make a minimum of 5 posts per month. This is basically one post a week plus either checking in, or answering the poll, so we don't feel it's too much to ask. However, if you will be busy with real life, such a during a crazy time at school, a new baby, surgery, moving, a busy time at work, please, just let us know! We WILL work with you, because we want our bees to stay with us!

Please remember that 5 posts is the absolute minimum to stay in the cult, not a number to aim for! We'd love to see everyone still posting at least 20 times a month, though.[/SPOILER][spoiler=Multi-cult Rules]1. Multi-cult memberships are currently allowed, but only within the context of the rules below. Failure to adhere to these rules may result in your removal from Unique.

Multi-cult memberships only extend to focus cults (HAs, battle, etc). Unique is a no focus cult (the original!) and memberships in other no-focus cults is not permitted at this time. We are very up front about our rules in the application process, including the activity requirement. If you do not meet the 5 post per month requirement, you will be removed from Unique for inactivity. Please do not join other groups if you do not feel that you will be able to give your full attention to us and the other group - it is not fair to anyone and we do not want to lose you! :*

If you are a staff member for Unique, you are not permitted to be staff or run another cult. You are not permitted to discuss Unique events, activities, members, or things discussed on the forums/IRC with other cults. Remember the cult rule that what is said here, stays here! Please do not talk about your other cult within Unique; just as we expect privacy we request that you honor the privacy of other cults as well.

Do not recruit members of Unique to other cults without being asked about other focus cult suggestions first.

As such, we have a Three Strikes Rule in place for forum offences such as spamming, not following rules, active membership, etc. If you get warned on three separate occasions within a year period for breaking any cult rules, you may be asked to leave Unique.

Good morning Unique! Sooo...I've been on "hiatus" for a while after leaving my previous cult and finding that Subeta is...kinda boring on your own XD (And since a lot of the things I liked to do got changed or nixed). So I'm thinking about trying to come back and see if I fit in to another cult! I loved my last one but it just wasn't the place for me anymore. One of my besties WHO I NEED TO TALK TO MORE is ...though I'm not sure how active she is around here anymore. I figured maybe while you were revamping and until Apps open up I could stick around here, chat, and see if we fit (and if I can get back into Subeta!). Oh, right...I'm Rilla!

anyway, hello Unique, i'm Felix. Fel for short. i was super active when i first joined up like 6 or 7 years ago, but as you grow older you grow more and more busy and the site just kinda died down (i was an avid RPer) i just kinda.... disappeared? got a little more active again, joined a pet cult, went on an unplanned hiatus and kinda got the boot on the DL from the cult for my inactivity. whoops. luckily i wasn't too affected because i never really interacted with the other members there anyway. i was just kinda.... there.
but i'm trying to make friends and get back into the swing of things and hopefully make many more friends again. (: i hope you don't mind me sticking around and chatting as well.

but i can't just never come back because i can't bear the idea of my account being wiped in the off chance i do want to return. hahaha
Oh finding a reason to stay is a bit harder than logging on every day lol Besides Unique, my drive on Subeta was my hoard, which I completed last month, so now I am still slowly removing items I need to keep before I can sell the remaining things lol)
Maybe you need to find yourself some long-term goals to fill your time with?
