First, most of my questions can be answered if someone could point me to a good pet FAQ.

1. How do I use the 20% Discount Card for the shops
2. How do I increase strength, health, defense, and speed on my pet (I already figured out that books = intelligence)?
3. How do I get started on the right path to unlock Carl from the quests? I know I need a map but I don't know where to start looking for the map.

1. Keep the discount card in your inventory to use it. When you buy something, it will take off the 20% and give you a message saying so. Keeping it locked is a good idea. It only works in restocking npc shops.

2. here is the training center. you can train your stats up to 2.5x of what your level is, then you have to train level. it's fairly straight forward but if you need more help, just ask you can also gain exp from battling. regular challengers are found here another source of exp is battle quests. they are found here you may have to train your pet a bit to be able to do a few of them. you'll only be able to do a few at first since you are just starting out, but the exp adds up and helps a lot. they reset every night at midnight.

3. The maps come from random events or you can buy them from user shops.
