There have been many times over that I wished that the options to Ping Friends or Ping Favourite Friends boxes were there when making a new post. It's frustrated me a lot when you want to ping them to a thread and you can't if you're making the initial thread. It'd be nice to add this so that we don't have to wait for someone else to post before you can ping them.

You could just use the @ symbol to ping people? I don't get why youre saying you can't ping if you're making the initial thread, huh? Im pretty sure you could.... Plus you could always make a group of your friends and just ping the group if you can't remember their usernames, you know? Seems pointless to me to make a 'favorite' pings section.... sorry no support :(

Actually those two things already exist and that's not her suggestion.

When you are responding to a thread along the side there are two boxes for "Ping Friends" or "Ping Favorite Friends" that you can toggle.

On the "Create a Thread" page there is no such thing. I believe it's honestly just an oversight and there's no reason that it couldn't show up there. Although it may be a bit more complicated then that because I also don't believe that staff can make their posts official staff posts in a new topics first post.

Just ping all 125 of your friends no big deal

This is a rhetorical question but don't people already do that for CW threads.

But really, I don't see the need for it either. This is what ping groups are for and if you really want to do a mass ping, the @ way is just fine and has worked so far.

CW threads and pings aren't necessarily for friend lists. It could be random people who have signed up. And as you mentioned, the creators usually have a ping group for that.

However, when a person makes a reply on a topic - maybe they posted on a giveaway thread and want to let their friends know, without having to individually ping each and every one of their friends (I counted and has 125) - there is an option to ping all of your friends, and an option to ping your favorite friends (Which you can set on the friends page)

What is saying is that when a person makes a whole new topic, that option is gone. What if they want to start their own giveaway thread? What if they have news to tell everyone? They just want that little button to click to ping everyone at once rather than individually pinging every single friend they have.

It's less of a feature suggestion, I think, and more of an oversight as said.

The options to ping friends and ping favourite friends, which already exist next to the box in which I type right now, should indeed be added to the topic creation page. I don't know why we can ping all our friends with a click of a button for a normal post, but not a starting topic, which it would seem more helpful for. When I changed my username for the first time and wanted all my friends to know, it would have been cool to check the "ping friends" button instead of manually typing out everyone's names. Not to mention, individual pings with the @ symbol stop working after like 10 pings so... Support yea...

I also think they should fix the preview topic function so it actually works but that's a different story.

ping groups don't work if you want to just ping your friends only. Not to mention that pinging 200 people 10 at a time removing the previous 10 before you can ping the next 10 would take forever.
