Has anyone seen Scintilla ('The Hybrid', for American audiences)?
If so, I would give anything to do a roleplay continuing where the movie left off.
Spoilers for the Movie Below
You could play Jim, assuming he's somehow gotten himself out of the gulag and probably to an American embassy/under protective services of some sort. He could be tracking Goethe, having managed to convince someone important of what he'd found, or he could be tracking Goethe without any outside help.
Alternatively, you could play an OC. Either some sort of MIB-style agent who knows aliens exist and is tasked with finding/relocating/terminating them if necessary, or a regular government agent who has no idea aliens exist and as such is thrown into a completely different scenario. You could be the inspector that finds the dead guy in the bathroom at the end of the movie and subsequently conducts the investigation that leads to the discovery of dangerous(??) alien life. Or you could be a totally regular person, obvs. We can hash out the details.
I know this is seriously a shot in the dark, but! If anything of the above strikes your fancy and you haven't seen the movie, I would be happy to explain the plot of it to you if you still want to play, since everything that's happening in the roleplay would be post-film, anyway.
Now for Some Stuff About Me
-I prefer to roleplay over email, but that can be negotiable. No IMing services of any sort, however. It doesn't work with my writing style and I don't like to feel rushed. In the same vein, please do not contact me if it hasn't been more than two days since my last response. I don't appreciate it. I remember you, and our roleplay, and I will tell you on no uncertain terms if I no longer wish to continue. That said, if it's been a coupla days and you wanna poke me, I may have dreamed that I sent a response in a timely manner and not realized that in reality I haven't.
-Standard rules for things apply, ofc. I have no limits, but if you do, let me know.
-I like to get chatty and plotty ooc, and I have a lot of ideas for this. This dumb little indie alien movie has taken over my life and I shall carry the fandom on my back if I must ;=;
To Finish: A Writing Sample, Actually in Spoiler Tags!
Besides dealing with neurotic fortune tellers and other brands of lunatics, Dmitri had actual business to do. He was a wanderer by nature: a nomad, a peddler of curiosities and physical labor. Sometimes he was a drug dealer. More than once he'd been a contract killer. Whatever odd jobs he could take he did these days, because the alternative meant settling down in a single place, and settling down in a single place meant death on no uncertain terms, either from his own boredom and ennui or by the hand of someone who was a braver man than he.
But today? Today he was selling information, and a pretty chunk of it, to boot. Finding himself at a small, 'French'-style cafe just off of fourth street in the sleepy city, he perched himself in a chair out on the patio, clothes clean and beard styled and hair pulled back to make him look, for once, not like the homeless man he actually was. He had his phone out, tapping idly at a dumb game on the screen, and didn't question how the device never seemed to run out of battery life. It'd been nicked off some magi while Dmitri'd still been in Greece, and hadn't needed to be plugged in since then, still sitting pretty on just over 80% according to the little green bar. Dmitri sure as shit wasn't going to argue with that kind of mileage.
He spent two iced lattes and a scone sitting out there before his contact finally showed her ugly mug, sliding in across from him like they were old friends meeting up for a chat. She wore a pale blue burka - so maybe the ugly comment wasn't exactly valid, since Dmitri could see nothing but the slightest hint of dark skin and pale eyes - but the scales on her hands and the nails sharp enough to be considered claws painted with gold and bright red swirls gave him the impression that he wasn't exactly looking at Miss America 2015. Her voice when she spoke was melodic, soothing, and Dmitri couldn't hear a damn thing she said, twisting his head just enough to point at the earplugs he'd picked up from CVS on his way to the rendezvous.
"Speak a little louder, darling."
The look he got for that alone was worth the potential injury he might sustain. Few creatures were above causing scenes in human residences, himself included.
For a moment, she hesitated like she would physically reach across and pull the bud from his ear, but eventually and with an irritated glare cut across the table, she pulled her own phone out from some hidden pocket within her garment, and negotiations began.
They made quite the sight, tapping away to each other, and a conversation that would have taken fifteen minutes lasted nearly forty-five, ending with an agreement that satisfied him less than it should have. Unfortunately, that was the life of a self-made man. Sometimes, he had to take the scraps or risk getting himself hurt.
Above is a sample of my writing, if you'd like to take a peek and see if you're at all interested in the way I write.
Thank you very much, and if anything here at all tickles your fancy, please don't hesitate to ping/smail me! I'm so stoked for any kind of alien-themed roleplay I would be absolutely delighted to talk to you about anything! <3
