Thanks to the fact that challengers now have static speed, I would think unstable sample syringe + swashbuckle + skelly scroll with volatile energized mecha's blessing could reasonably last long against him before you need to use a P-Quill or RotL. At least it could with UltimateFriend (also lacking a sandreaver).

That is actually clever. I tended to just smashy smash with Trident, Cronus Blade, and TA.

Maybe I'll do that next reset - I already ignored an Ice King event today and will happily continue to do that (at least until gets closer).

Skelly or aftershocks hits Ice King harder than TA does since he only blocks ice. For similar reasons, I used skelly over TA when beating up the USF with John (low tier 11). Plus, skelly also has an advantage over TA in that it will block out some of the ice than the syringe will fail to block in addition to slight coverage against his lunges and his roar.

Thanks! It kind of gets fun after awhile, or maybe that's what I tell myself. I used 's strategy with my second pet (well, Trident instead of Swashbuckle because I don't know why) and it wasn't too bad at all. :)

It's 20 now, but I skipped another event last night. Was too sleepy.

We'll see what happens once I get to 25. Tobeki is only mid t12 though, he might not be able to go too much higher.
