I was about to ask in 'Help' but since this is pet related...

I'm making a list of what each pet is kind of classified as (Bird, Feline, Fish, Etc.) and used the wiki to get what most of the pets are.. however, the sit has Charlie listed as just a pet XD

Now in my mind he looks feline but the wiki says "The Charlie is a pink animal of no origin." Yet it's supposed to be the "bad" side of the Torrey (who is classified as a beast pet)..

So does the Charlie have an identity crisis xD?

In all seriousness, they're probably based of small rodents like the Torrey, but have a more Subeta spin to it, like the Donadak or Escalade

The Charlie and Torrey are some of the older pets on site, and I can recall them being referred to as 'squirrels' pretty often before the Popoko came along and claimed that spot as its own. Though I'm not sure if that was the official staff line, or the usersbase's interpretation of them. Admittedly that's a lot easier to see with the Torrey than the Charlie, which doesn't seem to have a tail at all, let alone a big fluffy one... but yeah, like said, you could probably classify them as 'rodent-like animals' quite safely.

In the Charlie's case, with the bat-wings and fangs, it's probably safe to say that they have a distinct demonic element to them as well. Look at the Angelic Charlie:

• wings and halo are clearly fakes, which isn't the case wth any of the other Angelics, even those of the more traditionally 'nefarious' species.

(Due to the scars, particularly the head scar, I've also heard speculations that they might be undead/zombies, but that's probably stretching it too far.)

tl;dr: "demonic rodents" works for me. :)

Where did you hear that it was a zombie? Id love to hear the persons reasoning for that...scars do not equal undead/zombies lol

Ehh, I can't pinpoint a specific occasion; it's just something I've heard said a couple of times over the years (on forums IIRC, I lurk a lot more than I post). Possibly just some speculation that "possible lobotomy scar + bad attitude = maybezombie!"?

...Of course it's also entirely possible that I'm misremembering the context and maybe people were talking only about specific examples (e.g. their own pets/characters) rather than the whole species in general. -_-;

I always considered Charlie either a cat or some rat. Leaning towards cat, though.

i always saw it as some sort of demonic-feline-like creature; not quite a straight up demon cat like the feli, more like a demon that just so happens to have cat-like qualities.

We've always referred to it (well, some of us behind the scenes) as the demon hamster.

I always thought it was the decedent of a rodent/bear roadkill.

When I first joined this site, as soon as I saw the Charlie I fell in love with it specifically because it CAN'T be classified as a certain existing type of animal in the real world. It's just a Charlie XD but if I had to pick something I'd say it's a rodent/feline combo. I always thought he had those scars because he's a feisty little guy and got in a fight, nothing more :P

Charlies are actually my favourite pets (I have three!) and one of the things I like most about them - aside from the fact they're shifty little pink gremlin things - is that they look like nothing in particular.

I was interested to read above that Charlies were supposed to be counterparts to Torreys - I'd no idea. There's not really many parallels between the two in their current forms so I did a bit of digging to find their original art and holllllly shit:

I've always seen them as felines personally. They make me think of scruffy bobtailed alley cats with a demonic/anthropomorphic spin.
