I am confused. I thought the site was trying to discourage hoarding, but then you come out with an achievement of throwing 50k snowballs -- which have to be purchased, singularly, from the shop that is open only part of the year. How does this not encourage mass hoarding? Has the policy changed?

I live in MN, and whatever you've heard... It's much worse.

I think it was mostly added because of last year's snowball event. But of course only those who threw A LOT of snowballs would be close to 50k or even get there.

You forget this is Subeta, they supposedly discourage hoarding but in every instance possible they actually reward hoarders. So remember, whenever they say don't hoard, that really means to hoard, because it will inevitably come in handy.

Or, you know, it could be that they just added a whole bunch of tiers to give people something to work towards in future years.

You don't need to get every achievement right away.

Maybe it was less about hoarding and more about removing excess snowballs from the server left over from last year's snow fight event? But yeah, I get what you mean. =__=

You should always hoard. Everything. Always. No matter what staff says. Because events, achievements, revamps. |D

Achievements would have made a lot more sense if everyone was floored to the highest tier prior to the new tiers (if they were above that) and then they released some new tiers with reasonable numbers. These new achievements benefit people who participated in the snowball fight and for the people who didn't, it made it almost impossible. Buying 50k snowballs will take a long time to do by hand. It will be sorta expensive. I did the math the day it was released and it would take something like 11.44 snowballs an hour, every hour, to get the achievement by the end lf winter when the pult closes - and that was with a 25k snowball head start. It benefits hoarders, it benefits rich users, and it discourages new users.

edited for accuracy, didn't remember and my number was off by a large enough number to want me to edit this.

I would really like the shop to go back to last year's format, and just make the snowballs a different rarity that can't be fragged, since I believe a staff member also said that was an issue. I'd like to work on the achievement but buying and throwing snowballs even last year became too tedious once it became obvious that we were going to lose regardless, trying to restock and throw snowballs is way too much work tbh.

I got the 25k tier and I'm fine with that, I'll not work on the 50k.. unless there will be a new snowballs fight next year.. until then.. the 50k tier is simply doesn't exist for me.

the 50k tier + snowball fight format + unfragged rarity + raising the price a little bit + time wait, all this would make everyone happy: sP sink, achievement, prizes and FUN.

I don't care much about snowballs but the way the shop has been changing every single year is kind of annoying. There should be some consistency in how it works.
