I'm only halfway through the second season of Arrow (so no spoilers since I am behind, please and thank you!) and I'm already obsessed with the show. Since I am watching the series with my boyfriend, I'm being a good girlfriend by not watching ahead even though I really want to.

So of course, I snagged Oliver Queen from a name clearing and created John Diggle and Felicity Smoak. Now I've got three more fanpets to add to my list LOL.

But this is where I need your help! I need to start gathering ideas of what items to toss into their TCs. I'll be working on them after Luminaire so I'll be wishlisting for now. Below is a general idea of what type of items I'm looking for, in case you're not familiar with Arrow, but I am open to more suggestions!

Oliver: bow and arrow items, green hoods and masks, probably items related to The Island/his past in general. John: military-related items, guns Felicity: tech-related, especially computers

I haven't currently decided on colors and species for either of these pets, so I'm open to suggestions for that as well. Of course, the Harvester has a hood which may be good for Oliver, but I'm not convinced about that one yet. I may end up creating overlays anyway.

Erm. Well, it seems I may've gone overboard when I searched for TC items: my original post is about 10,000 characters long and the max is apparently 6,000. I'll post just my suggestions for Oliver's TC in this post, and if you could make a post after that I can just barely fit the rest in a second post. :P (I might be a seriously big fan of this show.)

Okay, so I spent a few days on Subetalodge looking up as many keywords as I could think of, but don't worry, I didn't include anything spoiler-y!

My memory is a bit fuzzy on some of the details, like what exactly some of the stuff looks like or what color they are, so some of my possibilities may not seem completely accurate.

I'm seriously in shock with all of those suggestions. You are absolutely amazing. I'm glad to see another fan of the show though!! I had such an easy time getting a hold of these names and I was like, does no one like Arrow on Subeta??? :( Haha.

I didn't even think of some of these ideas for TCs, such as his father's book (which, wow obviously), scars, and vertigo related items, among other things. I've been busy spending time with friends enjoying break so it's super late for me right now, but I'll totally go through and wishlist most of these items when I get the chance tomorrow.

Hrm, my character count seems to be a bit off, so color/species suggestions will have to go in another post. (Also, yay for Arrow fans!)

i just picked up roy and while my boy is going to be DCAU-ish instead of CW-ish, i just wanted to say that your posts are so helpful ;v; also you got a lot closer with the salmon ladder than you think! (i'm assuming that's what you meant by the pull up bar thing, anyhow) i haven't watched arrow in ages, but the salmon ladder is a fav obstacle for sasuke/ninja warrior obstacle courses, and while i don't think ollie's bar is tied anywhere, the american ninja warrior ones are on a pulley system, so your trapeze bar technically fits :U [/Silly Nerd Moment]

Ah ha! Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about, I just didn't know its name! Thank you for that link and info, I kinda geeked out a bit when I read it. :P Also cool to know the trapeze bar isn't so far off after all!

By the way, even though I'm not as familiar with DCAU Red Arrow, I hope you're planning to include in Roy's TC. ;)

Okay, last info dump, honest!

For possible species for each pet, I managed to come up with a few tentative suggestions. (And note, they're all tentative, and I won't be offended in the least if you don't happen to share my opinions on them.)

Oliver Queen

Oliver's kinda the hardest, but I think I like the Common Escalade (something about its head... gear... thing, reminds me of Oliver's hood a bit) and the Field Kumos, because they're both green. Something about the Glacier Mahar's pose kinda reminds me of Oliver's broody, damaged, "I'm all alone in this" attitude, and the Nightmare Telenine's pose miiight work for his more threatening, going-after-bad-guys side, though both of those would definitely require overlays.

John Diggle

For Diggle, I like the Marsh and Twilight Tigreans. The Tigrean's body seems like the perfect balance of obvious muscles without seeming like it's on steroids, confidence in its own abilities, and a generally calm demeanor. The Marsh fits Diggle's skin tone pretty well, and the Twilight echoes the black suits he seems to wear a lot of the time.

Felicity Smoak

As for Felicity, I think I like the Cream Feli, because it's cute and sort of blonde-ish like her, and the Sweetheart Sheeta, because something about its pose makes me think of Felicity's adorable "oops, I just said something embarrassing again, didn't I?" moments. There's one more possibility for her, but since it relates to something shown in an episode you haven't seen yet, I'll stick it in a spoiler tag to be safe. Even then though, I won't go into any great details if you want to look.

This won't make sense until you've seen season 3, episode 5

Last possibility for Felicity is the Blacklight Feli, because it looks so fun-loving and the coloring sort of points to her past.

and i wasn't going to do the hood, because i think "the hood" really is a cw thing?? (for roy, at least? ollie had one in young justice, i guess, but i don't remember roy ever being drawn with one) but then i was going to do a baseball cap (since there's no good hat tbh -- there's the never say neverland one, i guess, but ofc it's green -- and that dumb mustard yellow lil robin hood cap is what i associate speedy with the most lmao) and well, the baseball cap isn't strictly a timmverse thing either so then i thought Why Not Do Both. so this was a long-winded way of saying thank you for reminding me about those hoods! i always forget they exist and roy really does need one, lmao

Ooohh, you know, I think you're right about the red hood being only a CW thing. I only watched the first few episodes of Young Justice (and that's the only other place I've seen Roy), but now that you mention it I don't recall him ever wearing a hood there. In which case I defer to your good judgement on the matter! ;) And you're welcome for the reminder!

Oh my gosh I'm sorry for just now responding, I had a lot of major plans this past week haha. But all of these suggestions are absolutely incredible!! I'm going to be looking back to this forum quite frequently bahaha. I didn't even know that some of these items existed. And thank you SO SO much for the TC gifts for Lumi. That was so thoughtful!

I'm still on season 2. I have the DVD set so I just finished the fourth (out of five) disc, the episode "Deathstroke". Oh gosh that was such a good episode. I'd totally watch more today but I gotta wait for the next time my boyfriend comes over so that we can watch it lol.

[edit] Forgot to add that I just watched the episode where we see flashbacks of Diggle as well last night so no spoilers there considering I didn't get to read these posts until today! I've been hoping that we would see his flashbacks as well. As for the pet suggestions, those are great too! I was leaning towards a Feli for Felicity (no real reason why though) but I didn't even think of considering Sweetheart. I love how awkward she gets when she says something embarrassing so those will be great ideas. I think for the time being I'll fill TCs and then choose who will be what, because I have the tendency to color a pet and later decide to color it something else haha.

Now, ahem, no worries about the delay, I realize it's a busy time of year for a lot of people. And you're welcome for the gifts: I kinda figured what with all the suggestions I was coming up with you could probably use a few extra MKBs in particular. :P

Ooo, you're getting close to the end of the season! I won't spoil anything, but man, big things are coming! I hope you've either already got season three on DVD or you've got Netflix (which has the first three seasons streaming), because you're almost certainly going to want to jump right in!

On a related note, are you and your boyfriend planning on trying out The Flash? I only ask because its first season premiered at the same time as Arrow's third, so you're coming up on the perfect time to watch it.

And yea my boyfriend and I were actually celebrating dating for three years yesterday so we watched a few episodes of Arrow lol. Oh gosh I can imagine it. It was hard enough to end on the episode that we did. The end of season 1 was pretty great so I imagine the same for season 2. I actually bought season 3 through my xbox live account so I do have that one to have once we get to that point!

As for The Flash, I've actually started watching it already! I'm not far, I think only on episode 7 or 8. The only problem with starting it when I did is that I didn't think I'd be spoiled of things that happen in the Arrow series. So I did find out a couple spoilers (at least, I think I did haha) on the episode where the Arrow makes a bigger appearance in season 1 of The Flash but oh well! It's taking us so long to get through Arrow just because of our schedules matching up and whatnot so we'll probably just stick with Arrow for now, but I'll rewatch The Flash with him if he decides he wants to see it as well.

No, thankfully I've already updated my WL since opening Lumi presents, so you're in the clear!

Congrats on the anniversary then, and that sounds like an excellent way to celebrate it! (Though I might be biased. :P) And yeeeah, the end of season two has its own cliffhangers that'll leave you on the edge of your seat, probably shouting at the screen to boot. Season three's good though, you guys should enjoy it.

Ah, okay. Hmm, as for Flash spoiling things in Arrow, there are a couple (-ish?) episodes in each show's seasons that crossover with the other, so those might cause problems. Each episode is still mostly standalone (so your boyfriend shouldn't need to follow Flash to understand the Arrow episodes), it's just, y'know, they might spoil a few things. Considering how far you've already gotten in The Flash, I think (going off episode descriptions) you'll probably be fine continuing to watch until episode 18: that one includes a character introduced in season three of Arrow and shows what their relationship is like with Arrow people, among other spoilers.

I gotta say though, the biggest, most glaringly obvious difference between The Flash and Arrow is how shockingly emotionally healthy the people on Flash are. They actually communicate with each other and explain how they're feeling, instead of just bottling everything up until it explodes. It's so refreshing to see, on any TV show!
