Hallo everyone!

I'm getting jealous hearing about all the chatting activity going on the in Ravenclaw forum (my GF, Garnet, has been telling me) and I was hoping to get something going here!

What are you all doing for Christmas? Or do you celebrate another holiday? Come and chat about holiday stuff, or even not holiday stuff! I want to get to know you guys! :D

Hiiiii! Happy holidays to you!

I'm actually jewish, so my family always goes out for Chinese food on Christmas eve! I think this year, we're going to go for Thai food instead though, either that or Sichuan food. (I live in HK so we have lots of options for Chinese food, haha.) Normally, even though we're jewish, we put up a Christmas tree but this year my mom and I were lazy and didn't do it. Which is probably okay because some of the ornaments we have are falling apart and we would have to buy more. (I keep insisting we should switch color schemes to blue and silver and gold so the tree is kind of Hanukkah-like but no one agrees with me.)

Are you excited about the holiday season? :)

Hell yes to blue and silver and gold! I love blue and silver color scheme for Christmas :D

I am pretty excited, though a tiny bit bummed because I wont get to spend as much time with my GF this year since I'm working the day on Christmas Eve and she's working Boxing day, but it'll still be nice.

I'm way more excited now that my exams are finally over! I finally got to put up my tree and decorate, so it all looks pretty <3

Is Hannukah over for this year? I can never remember what days its on! What do you guys do for it? I'm realizing just now that I really don't have many Jewish friends so I'm not really familiar with the holiday!

Happy holidays ladies. Sorry I am not available for at-length RPing, but happy to see more interest in our house.

How does Hong Kong in general tend to celebrate Christmas? My impression was that most Asian countries celebrate it nondenominationally, that they just love the decorations and the spirit and the gift giving. Trees are fun! We aren't Christian, but we have a tree as well. They're just so cheery when everything else is going dead and dry and dreary.

Sorry to hear that your love has to work on Christmas. We get two weeks off because I work for a university. My spouse has to take time off but we're spending a good long time at his mother's house this year for Christmas. We typically do, but it's more important to do it this year because his dad passed away. So first Christmas, it's gonna be really hard on his mom.

Hi guys! I'm having a movie night with tons of junk food on Christmas Eve and I'm going to give my roommate her present. I bought her this Lizzie Darcy thing that says "Obstinate Headstrong Girl Within" because Pride and Prejudice is her favorite book. I bought her husband a flask lol.

On Christmas, I'm going to my parents and giving gifts. I', just giving everyone cash lol. Then Christmas dinner, which is Thanksgiving dinner 2.0 lol.

Awww lol I go back to school tomorrow. I'm actually happy about that, except that I have 9am classes and an 8am lab this semester, bleh. I hate getting out of bed in the morning haha

I'm already back at work as of yesterday. We're moving offices so it's noisy and loud - my office is freezing but the rest of the building is about 80 degrees.

All I want is my book, tea, and a blanket at this point.

That's cool, 8am lab sucks, though 😩 What science? Chem? Physics? Bio? Other? I'm mostly just not looking forward to the drive back in potential snow/ice. SOOO looking forward to seeing my friends...and being out of the family house again. I love my parents, but I can only stay with them for so long before everything gets tense.

I'm a Bio major but that lab is Earth Sciences (EASC 101). I suspect getting up for school wouldn't be so hard if I just disciplined myself and actually went to bed at a decent time, but that never seems to happen...

Yeah I know what you mean about parents. I've been on my own almost 7 years now and I love visiting, but a week back in my old house is enough lol

We see eye to eye, you and I lol I totally get what you mean about going to bed at a decent time. I've royally screwed up any shred of a schedule I had before break. And I respect the Bio major. Of all the natural sciences, that is the one I find the most interesting. My only problem is that there is just SO MUCH to know in regards to Bio that for me it would never really feel like I'm making any headway. I'm an Anthro and French major.

Ohhh! I'm thinking about doing a double minor, in Earth Science and Anthro! I had my first anthro class last semester and I loved it. I have another this semester too (with the same toeacher, who is absolutely amazing)

Yeah, I frickin' love Anthropology! I just got my topic accepted by my advisor for my senior thesis for anthro, too! What year are you? HAve you had to start doing that stuff yet?

No, I'm just in my first year, and I don't think I write a thesis at all for my bachelor degree. The anthro I took last semester was a Gender, Age and Culture class, and the one I'm taking this semester is about North American Aboriginal Peoples.

Yeah, I go to a weird liberal arts college so it makes sense that mine's a little different. And that is way cool! I wanted to take a Native American history and culture class, but they discontinued it my sophomore year :( Anything specific you want to focus in for Anthro and/or Bio?
