I was recently diagnosed with this condition about three years ago--I can't believe I've had this all my life without knowing! It all started with me going to my Doctor complaining about chest pain. He sent me for a stress test and voila! A heart condition that I never knew I had.

I read up about it from time to time and I noticed that one of the symptoms said "Constant tiredness or fatigue". I've been tired my whole life and I'm delighted to see that this could possibly be the problem.

I was just wondering, how many of you have this condition?

P.S. I have to get my heart checked every 5 years and my heart Doctor told me to take care of myself, which I really haven't been doing. I gained a total of 130 pounds and I'd like to start loosing weight because of my heart, since BAV has limited blood flow to the heart.

I don't have this condition but I do take care of my father who has a bad heart and lives with a pacemaker and defibrillator. Half of his heart is dead. My father doesn't have this condition but had multiple heart attacks. If you'd like I'd be happy to help to give you some tips to help loose that weight (I'm on a very strict diet because of my gallbladder and I've lost 20 pounds in 5 weeks)

My secret is I'm on the diet known as The Bland Diet and I'm already a vegetarian but I'm taking a step forward and going vegan. This is week six and I've lost 25 pounds. The foods that you can eat is online. You can find them everywhere. Just eat what's on the list, cut your calories to 1120 a day (perfect calorie for a 120 pound person) And all the exercise you have to do is walk. I can't jog or run due to a ruptured disc in my back so I walk around the apartment complex while listening to music. I feel so much better though giving up on caffeine was the toughest part.

I don't have any problems with my aortic valve, but I have a slightly lazy mitral valve and a condition known as Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which occasionally causes my heart rate to jump up to crazy high levels and causes me to faint. I'm on medication for it which is thankfully normalizing my heart rhythm most of the time, but it's still challenging at times. Losing weight will really help to clear up that fatigue you have because it'll help make blood flow around the body more efficient.

Good luck with the weight loss, and take good care of yourself! <3 If you have any questions about your condition or anything like that, feel free to ask. I have medical training (paramedic) and extensive knowledge about all things cardiovascular thanks to continuing education training. :)
