I didn't see an x-files thread in here and the 'reboot' is steadily approaching :^) YOU GUYS. IM SO EXCITED. OMG.

X-Files was airing when I was a kid, and I remember seeing episodes here and there over the years, but I'd never seen it all the way through paying attention to the plot or anything. (tangent: the house I grew up in was right next to a bar, and on weekends my parents would hang out on our deck and yell "SCULLY!" to the drunken passersby until someone came back with "MULDER!" which happened surprisingly often considering how classically rural and small that town is, lmao)

Earlier this summer, I started re-watching the series start to finish to prepare for the six part miniseries reboot that is coming to Fox this January and HOO BOY, I did NOT know what I was getting into! I mean, I knew I liked the x-files already going in because I always have, but I had no idea how emotionally invested I'd get and honestly how involved the overarching plots are?? (Also the humor is A+)

Currently I'm on season 5 and I think this is my favorite season so far (w/ particular regard to s5e12 "Bad Blood" which is a hilarious pizza vampire episode totally worth watching out of context, and also s5e10 "Chinga" where Scully is the one being all, 'well, it's not witchcraft, how about cursed dolls?' and Mulder is like 'well im sure there's a perfectly logical explanation for this but im currently too busy throwing pencils at the ceiling and watching porn in my office to be able to make a scientific assessment'). I'm just powering thru it while I knit up some gifts for friends and its. Its just so good. YOU GUYS. ITS SO GOOD.

ANYWAY PLEASE LET'S TALK ABOUT XFILES none of my friends are watching w/ me anymore, nobody understands my love for these adorable paranormal investigators ;w;

I'm definitely excited for the X-Files to return! I just have to get caught up with it first. I remember watching it with my parents as a kid, and I loved it. Favorite Sunday night show, if I remember correctly. Did you watch either of the movies?

I remember watching the 'i want to believe' one when it came out about 7-8 years ago, and being kind of disappointed with it tbh? at the time i didn't have the understanding of the plot that I do now, but I've heard that die-hard fans weren't super happy with it either. i've never seen the '98 one but I want to! I'll probably watch them both once I'm caught up :V

I can't believe it's been that long since "I Want to Believe" came out, I feel old now lol. I was neutral on it, it wasn't the greatest but not the worst either if that makes sense. I've never seen the first movie either, another thing I have to try to do over my break.

LOL yeah, I was in high school when it came out, and now I'm at that point where I keep remembering that xyz stuff that happened when I was in school was almost a decade ago... haha WHOOPS. I don't even really remember what it was about tbh I'm kind of excited to watch it again and see what I think this time :^)

BUT YEAH, I'm checking out the '98 movie right now cause I don't really even know anything about it. It looks like it follows up on the 'black oil'/colonist plotline that started in season 3, which is interesting to me since season 5 (where I am right now in particular) is expanding on that, too, and shit is getting OUTTA CONTROL! (also, I found the 98 film on putlocker!)

I had just graduated from high school when it came out, so I definitely know what you're talking about. I can't believe it's been almost a decade since high school. And that's cool, it's hard to find the first movie where I live, so that's definitely helpful!

its on Fox that is airing the mini-series not Netflix. Season 5 is a really good season. one of my fave episodes is in Season but not my absolute fave which is in Season 6.

Also super excited cause more Xfiles. I own both movies cause I loved I want to Believe and it was a combo pack. I just want some loose ends from the series to be a little tighten like

no problem Season 6 goes more into the arc of the show and Season 7 is the best season. Season 8-9 you can skip episodes and still get the premise.

Watched it and absolutely loved it. I felt like a teenager again staying up to watch it on Sunday nights lol. 6 episodes aren't going to be enough. I can already tell.
