So I have a few questions ha ha, if anyone could entertain them I would much appreciate it!

I've been trying to read up on the guides and I see that pet stats can get up into the 1000s. But is Training Center the fastest way to raise stats? It seems really daunting right now starting at 10s and only increasing +1 at a time.

I've also tried battling to get exp but I can barely get through 3-5 of the battle quests before I get a challenger that is way too strong. The weakest monster still kills my pet 90% of the time.

How long does it normally take to start out?

The training center is the best way to get stats for beginners, then exp from battle quests and boosters later.

It takes plenty of time and commitment to grow your pet, unless you can spend lots of CSC on autotraining and sP. However, you can beat most of the easy and medium challengers within a season if you train regularly. It will take casual battlers at least a year to get to 1000 stats give or take how often you train, quest, or boost.

Hi! Welcome to battle :)

In the very beginning the absolute fastest way to get stats is indeed the Training Center. If you're able, a good investment is buying some CSC so you can autotrain. Autotraining you only stick your pet in once a day and it automatically keeps putting your pet in for 24 hours. It costs 25 CSC and some sP. This is a good way to do it in the beginning because you get lessons while you sleep. You get something like 24-26 sessions.

Autotraining is NOT good after a certain point. For example, my pet Mel only gets ~2 training sessions a day. I can just put her in manually twice for the same effect of autotraining. It's a waste of money.

But until the 500s or so it's a good idea, I think. Or so long as you're getting something over 12 sessions a day?

Anyway, after a certain point your best way of getting stats will be Battle Quests. You should start trying battle quests as soon as possible, but you'll only get so far at the beginning. Don't stress about that, it's the same for everyone. You absolutely will not be able to do every single quest until you're tier 11 or 12.

If you're exceptionally rich you can buy boosters, but I wouldn't recommend using them for a while yet.

Also read as many books as you can to your pet! Intelligence is a very important stat.

Thank you both for the info!
Is there a list of all the books anywhere handy? I've been slowly going through the book shop but of course it doesn't always have all books in stock.

Subetalodge is a really good resource! You can make an account and use their lists.

: Before you get all the books please consider Mystic Spindle game. If you're starting from zero intel point (or under 100s) it's still good giving this a go because you can basically get free intelligent points to boost your pet's AP without having to pay a lot for books. Intel point will get expensive to gain in the longer run and it will not be worth it to play Mystic Spindle when your pet's intel point has reached a certain number. I'm new to battling too and have just figured this out today and want to share this bit of info. I am trying this out on my newest battle pet, and has so far gained him 25 free intel point (imagine how expensive reading books will be after you've gone past that 1000 book limit) It may take some time to get used to the game, but if you play it frequently you'll soon get the hang of things. You can play it on Very Hard first for 10 times to get 300 MS points to spend in the shop (remember to buy intel point first before buying the books), or play it on Four Corner mode to gain a max of 400 MS point per day. If you need help with this game feel free to drop me a comment or sMail. I'll be more than happy to help.

read your pet sixty four books (or do the Mystic Spindles thingy) so that you get 4 AP. This will allow you to cast Champion, which will heal you 15HP per turn. Very few of the easy challengers can deal out that much damage in one turn. This will help you with Battle Quests.

You won't be able to make Champion Scroll yourself at the Secluded Shrine with this few AP, but it is affordable to buy.

I found I was able to get a pet to stats of 800 in one year.

When I go to the game's page and click on an option, all I get is a blank white screen with "resume" and "musis toggle"? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing ha ha.

Can you ast a spell in addition to using two items? or is it one item + one spell?

Two weapons, one scroll, and one potion each turn is what you can use.

: [edit] My bad, it seems that the game is broken beyond remedy now. Please just ignore what I've posted below. It may take some time for the game to be fixed, but I still suggest that you read about 64 books to your pet and wait until the game is fixed. Trust me, it will save you tons of sP later on.

Sometimes I get the blank screen as well, but this is what I've done to get around that glitch. Not sure if it works for you, but you can give it a go if you want:

  • Make sure your browser is up-to-dated. I use Chrome, so I'm not sure about other browsers.
  • If the game doesn't work the first time you click on it, try playing another flash-based game and then return to it later on. Some of the games I've been playing that do the trick are Memory (pretty quick to play) and Saheric Slide. You might want to try Pete Says (I haven't tried this).
  • Once the game works for you, keep that tab open and do everything else on other tabs. If you navigate away mid-game it might not work again the next time you try to access it.
  • If none of these works for you, then you can try buying books instead, but I'll suggest sticking to the scroll recommended until you move up to tier 4 or something. Seriously Mystic Spindles is worth the wait if you don't want to blow tens of millions of sP to buy intel boosters later on to make up for the free AP you can earn at this early stage by playing the game.
