Okay, so I know the site supposedly isn't doing things based on real-world holidays anymore. However, a lot of the Luminaire themed items are pretty obviously Christmas-themed, even if they aren't called that. You have to admit it. I know this has been brought up before and been shot down, but it would really be nice if we could get a few Hanukkah-related items. Especially wearables. The Police Doughnut I'm wearing looks kinda sad and more like a bagel :P It would be awesome to have a wearable jelly donut with some jelly on my face, you know, like the cookies and cakes that do that? And a menorah as part of a background.
If we can have Christmas items and just not label them, can't we do that with Hanukkah items? A menorah doesn't look that much different from a typical candelabra, a description could just talk about bringing light in the dark winter and that kind of thing. Jelly donuts aren't inherently religious and people would probably wear one for non-Hanukkah reasons, too, just because they like donuts. Who doesn't like donuts?
Yes, I know about the Hanukkah items that are already on the site, but a lot of them are very old and most are not wearable. I like wearables.
I think this would be great. As you said, they wouldn't have to be specifically Hanukkah items. Maybe the people of Subeta have Luminaire candelabras, or play a winter game with wooden tops. There's no reason everything about Luminaire has to be specifically Christmas/Yule themed. There's all sorts of winter holidays it could draw on, like Diwali or the solstice. It could be a good opportunity to expand on the Luminaire lore and turn it into something more interesting than just "Christmas Luminaire trees and presents!"
(Also, this topic made me realize that my religion of less than 20k practitioners has more Subeta item references than Judaism, the religion of roughly 14mil people. WTF.)
I 100% support this.
I know someone is going to say it "too real-worldly" ... As if we don't literally have and decorate Christmas "Luminaire" trees.
It would definitely be nice to expand as a whole since the site itself has a variety of players from different backgrounds and view points. This would be deeply appreciated, if we were able to pay some sort of respect to the abundance of holidays that are running their course this season, including Hanukkah. I love Luminaire and the season as a whole but I also enjoy being able to enjoy other festivities going on outside of my usual.
I support this if its made to be a part of Lumi as suggested. I like keeping with subeta lore.
I think we have some Hanukkah items from way back when that are Hella outdated.
That being said, I always support more world building, and would love to see a "Winter Holidays Around the Subeta World" December month. Like, different real world items could be worked into other areas of the Subeta world. Like, do they celebrate Luminaire the same way in Centropolis? Shadowglen? Maybe some places don't celebrate Luminaire and celebrate something else? I don't think we need to make a new holiday, but just how other place (outside of Artic Frost) celebrate the winter season. And that would be a great opportunity to work in Hanukkah or other holiday inspired items into this season. :) Similar to 's suggestion.
I'd like to see other winter holidays like Hanukkah integrated into Luminaire via Melody items and ornaments, but I don't support a separate Subeta version of other celebrations. Tbh I'm here for more cultural food like latkes, gelt, etc, to be released by Melody. ^^

I support this idea. The fictional planet of Subeta is supposed to have been colonised by humans. The colonists's descendants have adapted fashions/customs/celebrations from Earth such as Alegarten.
Yes please! I would love to see a wearable menorah, or a set of latkes with various stuff on them (jam/jelly, cream cheese, applesauce, etc)!
they/them/theirs, please.
I had latkes with sour cream for dinner. A latke set would be great. Adding my support for Hanukkah wearables, as well as more wearable food and drink in general.

Since Christmas is called Luminaire on Subeta, Hanukkah could be referred to as Jewminaire

They used to have plushies... But they renamed them from "Chanukah Blob Kitty Plushie" to " Long Lasting Blob Kitty Plushie" for example.
But seeing wearables and other stuff would be cool. Just give it a different name like they did the plushies.

Christmas is celebrated with many different traditions around the world, and I'd love to see those kinds of items incorporated into Luminaire too.

I think this site could use some more religious-themed items. People will probably hate me for this, but we have items for sexuality, gender, various skin colors, pseudo-ethnic clothing etc. I'm always seeing users take pot-shots at various faiths. It would be wonderful for Subeta to show some support for what people believe.
EDIT: wince Sorry, I didn't realize I was one week beyond necroing this. I'm used to sites with faster forums where the front page is always recent and I rarely venture into the forums here. I'd delete this post if I could. Have mercy on me.
As long as it covers every faith, including satanic ones, and atheism.
