Currently categories for inventories are awful. Most items do not appear in the correct category, and some items have no assigned category at all. I would like to be able to at the very least, be able to drag and drop items into the correct category, if not make our own categories.
Ideally, I would like the item categories to be remembered. For example, I currently have a Orange Brown Fitted Jacket in my inventory, which doesnt have a category. If I dropped it in Clothing, next time I received that item, it would go straight into clothing.
I'm not certain this is necessary, considering the inventory is not meant to be used as a long-term storage.
You can create custom categories in both your shop and bank already, so those seems like better places to keep items if you want them sorted in a specific way.
Not necessarily for long term storage, but when you have 250 items in your inventory, its a bit daunting when trying to figure out where everything is going to go. I think if everything was already nicely sorted by category it would be much easier.
What I really want is item categories as they are to make more sense, but I figured giving us the option to make our own categories would be much easier to program, instead of going over every single item in existence and assigning it a category.
I don't really see this as necessary. You can quickstock items into your wardrobe (and also into collections, with a GA) and you can guess a lot of items' uses just by looking at them.
Though maybe I'm in a minority but I don't organize my shops at all, nor have I ever sorted my inventory by category.
Yeah, I don't think this is necessary either simply because in your vault, you can categorize everything. Although, I wish vault categories were improved so we could edit category names.
You can already sort inventory by stuff like price, name, timeline, etc. but my main tip would be to clear out your inventory frequently or to create shops/vault categories to store other items. :)
