I think my biggest concern with Luminaire right now is whether or not a gift I'm giving someone from their wishlist has ALREADY been gifted, I wish there was a function that would take something off their wishlist if it was gifted underneath their tree although that would be a little unhelpful for things people need/want multiples of. I'm sure people will have no problem receiving duplicates and selling them for profit BUT STILL ;;

I feel the exact same way! Especially when I am lurking the shoutbox. I love to gift those people, but I feel like I could be sending doubles! Meh.

I wish this was an option, however, I did not mind getting duplicates last year - it was the thought that counted and I could always sell the duplicates or gift to friends who has also had the same things on their wishlist.

Oh boy, I have this same feeling with many of my friends. I look through the wishlists and gift all my friends and I wonder, "What if someone already send them this or it was put under their tree?!"

I am constantly thinking about this, especially when I do the gifting in the forums for Lumi. What if that persons friends have put gifts under their tree and I just got them something they've already received. Or worse, they already have it and forgot to take it off the wishlist!

Woooeeesss!

But at least we know everyone will be grateful to at least be thought about, I've been gifting empty trees so there is always some hope that I won't mess up.

maybe a page that shows friends gifts to a user without the user being able to view it.

I really love opening my tree on Dec 25. To have things mysteriously disappear from my wishlist, to people accidentally (or worse yet, purposely) spoiling what's under my tree would upset me way more than buying someone a duplicate item.

Also, as someone has already said, there are many items on my wishlist that I would scream to receive duplicates - 100 Credit Gift Card as a prime example!

I've received duplicates and I just sell them, or when possible trade them for items I didn't get. Its not a big deal.

I know, it is especially bothersome when you play the "Gift a WL item of the user above" because with some people who have really expensive WL items, I sometimes have to go with the cheapest one. I'm sure several others do this. So they are sure to have lots of the same item. Sure, they can sell it.... But still

Same, I feel like it'd be useful if other people had a different view of your wishlist if that makes sense? Like if you could see your wishlist as it is and other people would see what has already been bought. And for stuff they're hoarding I guess if everyone had a separate wishlist for that, we'd still be able to gift those items without worrying they already have too many haha

I feel the same way. However, I like to think maybe if they get doubles, they can gift it to another person, or sell it for some SP to buy something else on their wishlist they may not have gotten, so they will be happy either way. ^_^

I was literally just thinking this today. It would ruin the surprise if I noticed something missing from my own wishlist but I wish there was something that could prevent this. I don't mind getting duplicates of course since I can regift nice things and all but yeah!

Lol I've thought the same thing the last couple years.. Guess its just the chance you take? Especially if the person has a smaller WL. I think the coding for whatever would work for this, would probably be detrimental though, unfortunately.
