Hey there!
I'm a Leader at a Girlguiding unit in Scotland, and I'm looking for other members, whether you're a member of a Section or a Leader/Guider, to swap tips & activities with and to learn about different Units in different countries :)
Ofcourse! We're, Girl Guiding and Scouts, are all part of WAGGGS, World Association of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouts :3
I am no longer a Girl Scout, but I used to be and I really want to start a new troupe for younger girls near me.
I got my Bronze and Silver Awards but was too busy to do a Gold Award. My tip is to find what you love to do for community service and also camp in tents. Cabin camping can be fun too, but part of what makes it for me is the tent camping. I've done all types of camping, though.

I'm working on the last Module of my Leadership Qualification, after being involved in Guiding since I was a Rainbow at 5 years old myself :) I worked my way through Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, and left at 14. Life got in way until I was about 19, when I started helping out at a Brownie Unit, then I moved to Girls Brigade, and now I'm back at Girl Guiding!
As I'm working with 5-7 year olds, we don't do Residential activities, but I'm actually hoping to move on to Brownies or Guides once I've finished this Module!
Here we have Daisies instead of Rainbows, then brownies, juniors, cadets, and seniors/ambassadors.
I wasn't a daisy, but I went all the way to senior, that was when I was about 14-15 and if I would have finished my gold award I would've been an ambassador.

I started as a junior girl scout (in 5th grade, when I started public school) and I believe I became a cadette at some point...I assume that I did since I too quit when I was about 14 or 15, haha. I never even finished my bronze award! I think only 2 girls in my troop did. I live in a very small town so we only had about 10 girls when I started and around 6 when I quit, and I think by my senior year the troop dissolved altogether. :(
I really enjoyed girl scouts when I was younger but since our troop was so small and about half of the other girls were usually busy with other things, we didn't get to do a whole lot. but I remember one time we went to a camp where we learned how to ride horses with a bunch of other troops, and I just love animals, so that was a blast :)

I started Girl Scouts when I was 10, but quit at age 12 though, right before one technically qualified as cadet. Cadet started at 13 from what I remember my troop leader at the time saying.
Any who, a lot of my first experiences, sking, seeing snow, camping, etc. were via girl scouts. It was fun, but admittedly by the time I was 12, I just wasn't really into it anymore thus why I ended up quitting.
I know the program has changed a lot in recent years. We have a 'Rainbow Chat' at the beginning of Term and find out what the girls want to do, and what Rainbow Jigsaw area they want to do that term.
The programme is very much member-led :)
I wasn't part of a troop for very long because it ended in my area (which is super weird, given where I live). I did attend Girl Scout camp though for 10+ years, did all the trainings (buddy-up, camp aide, CIT I and II), and ended up a residential counselor specializing in art for several years.
