Hello,

It seems to me, with every new update, being either a Re-release of older rare, or valuable items, Seasonal rotations at the Millionaire shop, Old Event items now available to buy in other npc shops- or the new Every-month-buy-previous-years-Collections that items that were ounce worth holding onto to sell at a later time are rapidly loosing value nowadays or at the very lease have lost a buyer base since other players can just go through the in-site shops. To me it seems that alot of my CSC investments are constantly being undermined this year- anyone else feeling this way or am I just being a cranky old Subeta player?

Cheers!

Items were never the one thing to invest into. CSC is way more valuable.

Nothing on subeta is ever guaranteed retired, staff has been saying that for years. And investments are a risk; but you've held onto your items for this long, you can hold onto them until they go up in value again or you can cut your losses and try to get back what you paid.

Personally it doesn't bother me because a) I don't buy things as an investment, and b) I'm just not willing to pay user shop prices for a lot of things; I don't like to spend a lot of money, especially on myself. So it's nice having things re-released so I can get ahold of some things I probably wouldn't buy otherwise, or at least not for a long, long time.

If older items weren't brought back the artists would have had to come up with tens of new items for the sale, for example. That's a lot of work.

As a huge Treasure Chest enthusiast I really appreciate bringing back old, highly over-priced stuff.

CSC is the best investment you can make, not sP or items.

It is frustrating when something you held onto is no longer worth tens of millions of sP, but overall it's better for the userbase to be able to get those items. It's important for the longevity of the game for the players to feel like they can achieve the things they want. Rereleasing things like the monthly trunks just makes good business sense, too. Why should Subeta care about your sP mark-up when they could sell it for cash?

I'm an old Subeta player closing in on nine years. IMO CSC costs about the same as it ever did in terms of how hard you have to play to "earn it". sP is better even though it regularly devalues because the userbase can't hack a deflation. Because you can use it to get nearly everything else.

One of the reasons Neopets sucks so bad is that they have really stuck to the idea of "having value". Fuck that. Subeta is a game. Just like it is totally possible to have fun playing Ocarina of Time knowing perfectly well that somebody else has completed the game and owns everything there is to own in the game before you, it's possible to enjoy a virtual petsite in which nothing is ever permanently retired. Should Nintendo say "screw all the rest of you lateplayers, you're just not going to get than 100th Gold Skultula bwa ha ha?" NOT.

The value of all of the currencies in this game have fluctuated up and down. To me, the question is did you get the pleasure of owning the item or playing with it when you first got it? If yes, then it was worth it, even if someone else gets this item years later. If no, then this guides you on what you really wanna buy or work for in the future.
