Anyone else have this happen?
I left my job recently and have been having really awful headaches in the day. I couldn't figure out why, until I realized I'd been drinking about two cups of coffee every day at work and now have stopped completely. I'm hoping they lessen the longer I go without it because I don't want it to become a bigger habit than it is.
I've been trying to wean myself off caffeine for 3 years now. It hasn't worked. At its worst, I was drinking 2 monsters and 2 ventis from starbucks every day and popping caffeine pills like candy. I'm not quite sure how my heart didn't explode. Now I'm "down" to 3-4 cups a day.
I cannot go a single day without caffeine usually a cup in the morning does it for me.
Sometimes I'll add another cup in the late afternoon if needed. But I'm sure there could be worse things to be addicted too.

There's a healthy limit but getting yourself down to 1-2 a day and tapering to that should help the headaches.
I'm a two caffeinated anything a day person - soda, tea or coffee. Of course, chocolate has caffeine in but it's like a teeny amount compared to some other things.

I'm the opposite and really sensitive to caffeine. I never really liked the taste of coffee so for years I hadn't had any. Then, I decided to drink some and had about a cup for a few days. I began getting extremely bad headaches and when I stopped drinking coffee the headaches went away.
I remembered my odd sensitivity later, when I was taking Midol for cramps. I kept getting really painful headaches (days later) after I had taken a few. I looked up the ingredients and realized that it has caffeine in it! When I changed to a different (non-caffeinated) brand, I stopped having those extremely bad headaches.
I'm a huge lover of chocolate, but I haven't gotten any headaches from eating too much chocolate. I keep using it as an excuse to eat more than I should though, trying to find my "limit"!
I love that cocoa flavor, but ultimately I don't want to be addicted to anything that will make me feel sick/incapacitated/non-functional if I skip taking it, tbh. So far it's been 4 days and the bad headaches have stopped. thankful
I used to drink soda all the time, like at least 4+ cans a day of Mountain Dew. I stopped after I realized that it was the main cause of my teeth rotting like hell, and good god the headaches I suffered through because of it... it didn't help at all that I'm not the most hydrated person on Earth, so the caffeine withdrawal + being dehydrated killed me.
I would've said wean yourself off with something that wasn't coffee but still caffeinated but at least your headaches have gone away with only a minor suffering period.

I ran [more than] once out of coffee. and i was going through this phase whn i was considering quitting it completely.. I'm not sure it was 1st or 2nd day without coffee [most likely 2nd] and in the afternoon i got this terrible headaches, anxiety close to panic attack, i was wobbly, couldn't coordinate while walking, it was terrible. 'luckily' my flatmate realized what was going on and she was "did you drink coffee today?" .. my reply "well, you know.. it's over, and ... (.///.)" she immediately gave me a glass of her pepsi [her addiction] and i started feeling better.
i'm still thinking about how to completely drop it with no side effects.. but don't think it's possible. :(
Coffee is life.
Some of my earliest memories are of drinking coffee with my grandmother and its always been a bit of a disease for me. I've tried to quit but the reactions are pretty severe so I've weaned from constant cups all day to one cup in the morning or two when I'm working late.
I cannot go a day without it though. Ever. I get bad headaches, tired, physically ill..I even crave it in really unhealthy ways. I definitely self-identify as an addict in the most negative of connotations.
