I've been here maybe twice in my life, don't shoot me down if you dont like my idea please ;_____;

I know it'a a convenience / aesthetic idea more than anything else and please do let me know if it's too hard / silly!

Everytime I need to remember something, I make a mental note - and half the time I actually forget. I've actually sMailed myself to recap the subeta things I needed to do, but as soon as I deleted the event ping, I'd forget about it as well (I blame the dozens of mails I get though!)

Now my idea -- is it at all possible (and useful) to have self pings? Is this something others would like or am I the only one with a failing memory?

For example a page where I put a datestamp and a message that will self ping me in the events bar at the given time. Much like alerts work on subeta (games, cooldownws etc.), I could receive a pre-typed message!

I know I know - I could use notepad or my cellphone or Outlook to put it in my calendar. Except I like to check on subeta for subeta related stuff. And I'm sure I'd remember 98% more things if I had an alert reminding me! (and trust me, there are a lot of things I need to remember on subeta)

PS. I do use the notepad widget for static information (ie important links, recurring sCode & others) but the event ping would be interactive and stackable - so that information is presented in timestamp order!

I dont necessarily think this is a bad idea for some people who might need ti to remember certain things, but if I had that much trouble remembering I would just use the notepad widget on subeta and make a habit of writing to it and looking at it periodically.

I do use the notepad actually! But the list will get very long, trust me.

I get many mails per day for cws, recolors, commissions & general questions. And if I stack everything on the list, you can bet I'll forget to prioritize and some things will stay at the bottom ;;

I think this is a great idea, can be very useful for busy users who deal with the cw or art market etc. However I can imagine how much work it would need to build such thing so idk if it is viable??

Yes you can self ping yourself on a thread, the idea I had was to have a delayed / timstamped ping that would appear in the sidebar (like the 'You can now travel the coda caves again!' type but with the pre-typed message)

Also ahhhh I know, I'm worried about the coding part. I mean, we already have notification pings existing (cw shop owners can ping their entire group, whose message will appear in the sidebar) but I don't know how viable it is to transform it for a timestamped version qqq

I can see the uses, naturally, a more user friendly interface is always welcome.

I like this idea, especially for things like name clearing and friends birthdays.
