(Sorry for the tittle, letters limit thingy x3).
I don’t want it to be repetitive, as theres charity, donation corner.. and I agree, 100 items is maybe too much, considering the user number.
So – CHANGING THE IDEA: Perhaps... a place you can leave wrapped gifts - only one and grab only one by the end of the event. How tall would the pile go? Subeta team could change the image while the pile gets bigger. Subeta users, leaving one gift only to a random stranger could make a huge wall of gifts?
One big, colletive tree, would this sounds any better? Yes, there’s charity and the donation corner already, but really… people don't really donate stuff because "they're nice", they're either leaving the site or trying to get ride of their thrash (mostly, I won't judge everyone ;w;â€). The event I'm trying to propose could really be anything (totally different of my original idea, that's fine too! Please give your opinions on how to change this into something possible?).
The big idea here is not “count how much useless items I gave away for an achievementâ€, it’s about being genuinely… kind. 1 or 100, it doesn’t matter much, but considering the “crownded†problem, only one sounds great already!. A big tree. You pick a wrapped gift – you don’t know who left it there – they won’t know who got it either. “Do good without knowing whoâ€.
Gifting under individual trees is already good, but most will fill their friends trees, so why not a huge tree (maybe in the middle of centropolis? :p), it is also kind of nostalgic as well (know those super well know xmas movies?). The individual trees don’t need to be taken down either, the ideas, as I said, its just something that makes people nicer? Smaller/silly things sometimes affect real life too. Maybe the end of 2015 can be less cold and genuinely friendlier? Here or on real life. X3
Eh I think this would be perfect to fill the donation corner with trash. It's not abandoned, people do donate things, and it is take, no useless items stuck there.
The donation corner, abandoned? It's really, really not though. There's constantly junk in there. I do kind of like the idea of achievements for donating so many things but not so much the scheduled time frame for it.
I like this! I don't think it necessarily needs to go to 100, that's a lot especially when you take into account the number of people who will be doing it + the server strain of that many items being donated, etc.
BUT that's a cute idea, sort of a pay it forward kind of thing. Three tiers maybe to 10 items would be fine though, 1/5/10 :)
(Oh yeah it doesn't seem necessary that it only happen during Luminaire, all year would be good. Why only be in the giving spirit during the holidays? Plus we already have quite a few time sensitive achievements of 'do x this many times during Luminaire' already)
On topic though, I agree with , I could see an achievement maybe up to 10 instead of 100 and I don't think it needs to be restricted to Luminaire
I always thoughts that there is an achievement for this or I'm confusing with free gift/other donations for Charity..
why not bring back the wishing shrub instead, with tighter limitations?
100's too high. Even low-balling the numbers, if there were ONLY 1,000 Subeta players that went for the achievement that's 100k items flooded into the donation center. Ten items would be totally fine imo.
But really I would rather see a return of the... idk what it was called, but a while back there was a gift-exchange sort of thing, where everyone could list an item they wanted, and other people would fulfill the requests. Maybe it was last Luminaire? idr Anyway, that had some problems but I thought it was a cool way for users to donate items without people offloading a lot of junk to the donation center or other players. Every gift that went through was something that someone had actually wanted.
ETA: The Wishing Shrub! That's what it was!
I made some changes c: I would gladly appreaciate ideas to make this into a possible something!
Also, I don't think the donation corner is in fact as crownded as you guys say? i visit it for 8 years and i usually never find something, unless its someone leaving and they donated all their stuff. .3. But it may be just my rotten luck xD
