Hey, so, I find myself wanting to be on subeta 24/7, but I have a very hard finding things to do once I've already finished my quests and vending and store and all the other various little things I do, like picking from the Ikumoradeekanox and fishing in the spring and doing games, yadda yadda. So I've read about people restocking shops. And I have a basic understanding--you buy stuff from the main shops and restock them in your store, to make a profit I'm sure? And I thought this might be a good thing to kind of learn to do, since I'm always wanting to be on, but never have anything to do. So does anyone have any restocking tips or like a basic guide to how they do it? Any help is much appreciated, thank you!
(Why be on Subeta 24/7 if it's nothing to do?) Don't restock if it's not fun. Subeta is just for fun, it is not life.
Restocking is something you get skilled at by doing it. Consumables like books or food are easier to make a profit on more quickly. Books are useful for jobs and spells and acheivements and food is for achievement. Toys are consumable, but not all that necessary since there are cheap alternatives, and clothes and elixirs likely, nobody needs more than one copy of. If the item is sufficiently rare or if TPTB decide (randomly?) that it needs a price-support, a quest-grantor will ask for it and consume it that way So any item can be valuable to restock and only experience will tell you.
Unlike some other petsites that suck, here on Subeta the entire market is visible. The fansite Subetalodge will also show how to get items that are gettable but not readily restockable, some of those will sell nicely to other users who don't want to make them themselves and will buy them from you.
thank you for the tips! I do use subetalodge pretty avidly for a couple of things, but I never thought about that. Now that you mention it though, I do remember it giving useful information like that, so maybe I'll try to use that to my advantage. ^_^ Thank you! I'm very new at it since I've never really tried it before. I've been working on it a little bit for the last little while while I've been doing quests, and I actually find it fun. It's like a game, seeing what you can find in the main shops. :3
Oh, and I'm on subeta a lot because, even if I have a harder time finding things to do sometimes, there's usually something to do, plus I have too much free time and get bored and lonely at my house alone. :P Plus I just got back from a huge hiatus, so I'm really into the site right now and have been pretty determined to find things to do. :P Call me crazy <3
Subeta has some chat boards, so talking is something to do and can make your time seem less lonely. Scratchcards are time consuming and profitable. Training your pets is time consuming and sP-consuming. I change my outfit only once per week or so, but others change everyday or sometimes even put on pajamas at their local-night. Right now the v3 wardrobe is new so just fiddling around with it can help Subeta develop it if you find bugs or think of features that it needs.
I do use the chatboard forums a lot :) And the general discussion board under subeta features, I always post what I got from the tree and which bird I found and things like that haha. And I do train my pets and mess with my HA a lot. xD Although, I have never ever been able to make scratch cards profitable, because...I always lose o.o
My personal advice would be to pick a couple of shops and restock mainly in those ones, at least for the time being. Usually, items that are 1 in stock or 2 in stock are rarer and worth more. You can always Shop Search items to see how much they are going for and to see if they're worth your restock. Usually there is enough time for you to do so unless you're in a store that moves very quickly or competing with others for a really good item.
Book Nook and Food Market are two stores that I started with while restocking because those are fairly safe stores and pretty easy to get the hang of. You'll soon find your favourite stores!

thank you very much!! after some messing around i find that i like to restock from half-baked, i have tried book nook but i think there's just tons of people that restock from there so it's harder to really get anything since i'm new and don't have all the items' worth memorized. :P thank you for the tips though! i didn't ever think about how many of them were in stock, but i can see that coming in handy!!
Yeah, Book Nook can be hit or miss sometimes, as items go slightly faster. You can't go wrong with many items from there though!
Looking at stock numbers is a good way to get a grasp of what is worth a lot and what isn't worth your time.
I guess my last tip is that restocking at odd hours of the Subetan day often gets you better items as you're competing with less people. Night restocking for me works very well. 12pm Subetan time is 9pm my time so it's convenient for me!
