I'm moving from New Jersey to Florida next year to live with my boyfriend. I've known him for 3 years and we first met on tumblr. We've been in a serious relationship since December of last year and first met in person February 12 of this year. We've been able to visit eachother 3 times this year and I need advice on moving especially long distances? My bf says we'll need at least 5k would that be an accurate number? Also I'd be going to school after getting a job. Community college or cosmetology school. I've never lived on my own before what advice would you guys give me?

First,
a. Are you going to be renting an apartment b. Paying for car costs if you're moving with your own car c. General living expenses
Basically, think about how much you're going to need to pay for basic expenses and go on that. Renting places are going to need a rental history, credit check, and possibly bank statements. If you're living with your boyfriend and he's paying the bulk of the expenses, then the amount might be less, but how much you need is going to be based on how much your living expenses are going to be. Generally, you should bank on having at least a couple months in case a job search takes a bit longer than expected.
If you can, try looking up job prospects in the state you're moving to and calling them and see what they say. It may be hard, but if you state that you're willing to move employers might be more receptive to you than the average person especially if they know that they don't have to pay for your moving expenses.
