<p>Squid / tentacle stuff! Kazoo is an Inkling, a species of sapient squids that can take colorful humanoid appearances at will, and they really eagerly feature the motif of squids in just about everything they do.
No octopus things, though -- she doesn&;t mind octopi at all, but she&;s a squid living in a squid culture.</p>

<p>Black+white+bright color sets are the big color schemes in her culture. The dominant culture where she lives is an odd blend of flavors of punk + gang culture and urban flair in a Japanese-centered mixing pot.
--As a whole, it&;s not really comparable to any real human cultures, but you can probably piece it together from the individual similarities. It&;s fairly close to a highly liberal democracy with that reflecting in modern mindsets, but that&;s the closest it gets on a political level..</p>

<p>Degree of technology is about the same degree as modern Western human society. High-tech hospitals, smartphones, computers, and all that, just with a sea-life flair. There&;s even a greenhouse dedicated to making seaweed accessible.</p>

<p>Note that in the world Kazoo lives in, it&;s post-apocalyptic from flooding, so humans have been wiped out.. but rather sapient sea life, bro! No humans and few vertebrates, with about 85% of sapient life being aquatic invertebrates. No qualms on eating most seafood, because evolution is weird.. just, no calamari please! That kind of toes the line.</p>

<p>... But for some weird reason, the ocean itself is actually harmful to Inklings and their octopus counterparts. Weird, huh? It&;s probably because of the salt. So no saltwater stuff, yeah? Beachy things are totally fine.</p>

<p>Color and light is life for Kazoo and many other Inklings, anything colorful and practical is going to be a big hit somewhere. Great big parties and festivals are common, fashion + music + art are a big piece of culture, and friendly competition is hugely reinforced.

<p>She&;s got a low-key rebellious and snarky personality, a bit of a smart-aleck. Her fiery side comes out in turf wars, and she&;s screaming about 65% of the time then. She still tends to scream when excited. What a dork!</p>

<p>I&;d say she&;s more on the urban lifestyle side than a rural one. Is there even rural living in this universe?</p>

<p>Her default color is blue with purple accents, so a lot of her stuff is probably going to be a like color! But the rules can be bent since she can easily change color just like everyone else. She likes &quot;mild&quot; colors and then the brighter blues, purples and pinks, but can take any color.
