Hey guys! It's my 21st birthday today, and I wanted to get some ideas for awesome birthday drinks. Also, feel free to share your 21st birthday stories and experiences :D
I'm a fan of sangria myself. I like fruity girly drinks, lol.
I feel like I have to mention though, since some of my friends messed up, please don't drink to excess on your birthday. Or any other day for that matter. You can drink a few and have fun of course, and I'm not your mother, but please be careful. I've seen so many bad things happen because of people drinking too much.
Sorry, I didn't mean to be the wet blanket here. Just had to mention that. I do hope you have a lot of fun on your birthday though! Happy 21st!!
, happy late birthday!
I myself am a wine girl. I usually stick to wine, beer, and ciders due to some...interesting experiences in college. Let's just say I know what I shouldn't be drinking. I'll occasionally have a mixed drink if I'm feeling saucy, but I tend to stay away from the hard stuff. I agree with , be careful! Make sure to have a blast, but so do carefully. :)
I think for my 21st birthday I bought a bottle of wine and by boyfriend (now fiance) and I cooked a nice steak dinner. Simple and lovely. By the time I was 21 I'd already partied hard and got all that out of my system. :P

My favorite drink would be Michilada which is a bloody mary but with beer instead of vodka. Favorite shot would be a Buttery nipple which is butterscotch snopes and baileys Yummy!
My 21st I had 21 shots and a margarita, bad idea. Bar hopping gave free shots! Threw up everywhere but had fun before that lol
Chocoholica! -Pinnacle Whipped Chocolate Vodka -Chocolate Milk -Whipped Cream -Two KitKat Sticks :D
I can't stand the taste of alcohol, so really the only thing I've found that I enjoy is an amaretto sour. It tastes a lot like a Capri-Sun. Very, very sweet and sugary.
I was studying abroad in Japan when I turned 21, where I had already been at the legal drinking age of 20, so it wasn't really monumental or anything. I bought 2 roll cakes that managed to survive morning rush hour and shared them with my morning Japanese class. That weekend, I went to Tokyo Disneyland with some friends and it was neat because the entire place was themed for Halloween (my birthday is the week before).
Happy 21st! As a Canadian it's kind of weird seeing the Americans not being able to drink until they're 21, the age limit for my province is 18. I'm generally a fan of anything sweet, a personal favourite being coke/pepsi with a flavoured vodka (or rum I suppose, but I don't usually drink it), or any kind of blended drink (ie; belini or margarita) but you usually can't get those at the bar.
If you really want something crazy you could get a Long Island Iced Tea -- tastes like nothing but delicious, but is loaded with liquor so be careful if you start drinking those.
As for shots? A dirty hooker is really quite tasty, or a porn star (generally the ones with the dirty names are the best, hahaha!) Try to avoid anything with Red Bull (unless you're into that), but it just generally leaves you feeling not so grand. Also try to stick to one kind of alcohol, it'll make it hurt a little less the next morning.
HEY TODAY IS MY 30th BIRTHDAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIRTHDAY TWIN. How tell the age difference between you and I: the only special beverages I'll be partaking in is a delicious hot chocolate to warm me up after walking the dogs. Enjoy your day, I hope you find the perfect drink. :D
Edit: I'm an idiot and thought this was posted today. Well still, I hope you had a fantastic birthday.
YAY YOU!!! Happy birthday

I turned 21 in London. That was exciting for me because I'm American.
This is perfect season to check out wineries, go cider tasting, and have craft beers. c:
I like hot toddies and Irish coffees at fireplace bars when I feel like being a bit fancy. A less intense winter drink is hot chocolate made with milk, Nutella, and Bailey's Irish Cream. Top it with unsweetened whipped cream and cinnamon to temper all the sugar.
Champagne. All the champagne!
For hungover mornings-after you'll want a fried egg sandwich, (coconut) water and Gatorade, and a Bloody Mary whenever you're ready to drink again. Diner breakfast works too.

happy birthday! not a drinker so can't really help you there, sorry n___n
So if you like strawberries I suggest a drink called the Pink Mustache Ride, I've got the recipe too if you want it. I'm not sure if I should post it in public since there are underage kids in the forums, so message me if you want it :D
Happy Birthday :)
First off, watch out that you don't get too drunk... If you do, you'll wind up getting sick, or forgetting the whole night, and neither option is much fun! On that point, you should always make a point of drinking the whole drink (including ALL of the ice) before you move on to the next... The ice will slow down how fast you get drunk. And if you're going to drink a lot, space out the alcohol with water. My friends did that for their wedding... They didn't want the night to end badly, so once they started feeling the alcohol, they made a rule... For every alcoholic drink someone bought for them, they also had to get them a glass of water! It went really well, and they were able to enjoy the whole night, which was good...
As for drinks... If you haven't had beer before, beware! If it sits too long, it starts to taste really funky and nasty... I drink slowly, so I avoid beer at all costs. If you do like beer, though, my friends in France used to drink demi-pêche all the time, which is a wine glass of beer with peach syrup added. It was quite nice...
I generally prefer pina coladas or bailey's. Also, wine of course. People will tell you sweet wines are easier to drink, but I find I always prefer the dry ones. Though be careful, because the dry ones are more liable to give you a hangover, apparently!
I also like coffees with Bailey's mixed in. And when I was back in the states this summer, I had a root beer float... (Not the traditional kind, though!) I guess it was some kind of rootbeer liqueur or vodka, added to coke, with something creamier tossed in... I don't know for sure, but it was lovely... It really tasted an awful lot like the real thing. I've found recipes that use vodka, cream, kahlua, and root beer or cola, and other recipes that say Rumchata and rootbeer, or vanilla rum plus root beer, but I don't know for sure what was in the one that I had...
But whatever you do, make sure you have water near your bed when you finally go to sleep... A glass now and then between drinks to keep yourself from getting drunk, and a few more glasses at the end of the night will help a lot the next morning... But be careful! You have to start drinking water early enough... If you start after you're already mostly gone, you're going to wind up sick anyway! If you have a buddy who will be drinking less and that you trust, you could ask them to keep an eye on you... But then you have to promise to drink water whenever they tell you you should, or it won't work!
And of course, if you drink a lot, remember, it could be a lot worse than just you getting sick... So take it slow, especially with shots! Make sure you space out shots over time, or they'll sneak up on you...

At first I read this as you asking for ideas for drinking games, and I was about to suggest doing something with Mario Party (take a drink any time you roll a 1, land on a Bowser space or a Battle Minigame space, lose a minigame, etc). As for cool drink ideas, you could try looking at The Drunken Moogle, a site dedicated to alcoholic drinks designed around video games. They have drinks based on a wide variety of games, from Assassin's Creed to Katamari Damacy to Pokemon. There's even a rough recipe for vodka gummy Poke Balls!
