I get that you wanted to take out pets with unusable names but really, I do all of my pet hunting in the adoption center. You know how many pets are in there today? SIX. So basically if someone wants to get their dream pet now, they have to spend endless time and cash on potions and name hunting? How boring is that? I loved finding the perfect pet in the adoption center. My own personal favorite pet, Cheese and Crackers, was a pound pet. Come on. SIX? How ridiculous

Did it get cleared again? That's interesting. I had no idea there were so few pets in there. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing, though? I don't usually do the pound surf thing. It's got to be good for the site, though, right? Anyway potions are pretty affordable and there are name suggestion threads, so even if it's not super exciting for you to make a pet that way there are other options!

Yeah that is pretty standard for how you get your pets. You find a name, create it or adopt it, and spend the money for potions, zapping, etc. I think it's kind of few and far who rely on the Adoption Center to provide their completed pets for them.

What??? I guess it sucks that it got cleared? But creating a new pet is free and instant, and earning enough sP to buy most color potions takes less than a week of play.

You could always go to the adoption center forum and see what people are putting up for adoption. You'll probably find better stuff there than at the pound anyway.

You can also follow the unique pets in the pound thread. (It's empty right now, but only because old posts are cleared out when they're no longer relevant.)

I sometimes adopt them but most of the time I find either ones named like Kumos345425 or they already have a nice color.

I don't find much use in the adoption center. Users should be able to transfer their pet to another user if they don't want their pet anymore, otherwise, just delete the pet completely to free up the name for someone who is creating a pet they actually want.

Pet deleting is a pain in the collective ass of ID hunters.

How is name hunting and saving up for the the color changes boring? I think that's way better than just hopping into the pound and lurking for the one specific species/color combo. Besides you make it sound like it's sooo awful to create your own pet lmao

But yeah they actually do pound clearing from time to time. It's nothing new.

I'm not saying that zapping for months to get that ONE experiment or stalking a name for five years (me) are the healthiest fixations, but this is still a pet site.. It isn't ridiculous to put some effort toward your goal of a certain colors/species combo.
