Hi all! We're starting to wrap up this term and get things ready for the second term, so with that, I'd like to open up tryouts for Club Captains! Club Captains will essentially run the club they are the captain for and come up with the plans for the term. Tryouts will be done before the beginning of each term, as to give everyone a chance at trying their hand at captain. Members can be captain more than once, but it is very unlikely that they will be captain for two terms in a row. We'd like to give everyone a chance to be captain!
If you'd like to be Club Captain for one of the clubs below, please send me an sMail with your application. Below are the list of clubs that will be available next term. There may be more added later into the term, however those will be headed by me if we feel that we need to see how the club goes before we allow others to take over.
Quidditch Club - Note, this is NOT the Quidditch Cup!
This is primarily a roleplay club and will require someone to instruct, coach, and participate regularly.
Application for Quidditch Club Captain: 1.) Are you currently a member of the Quidditch Club? 2.) How often do you check our group forums? 3.) If made captain, what will be your plans for the club? 4.) How will you choose teams for playing Quidditch?
Book Club
This is primarily a discussion club. One book should be chosen for the term and then discussed.
Application for Book Club Captain: 1.) Are you a current member of the club? 2.) How often do you check our group forums? 3.) How do you plan on choosing the book for the term? Will you continue to the next HP book in the series, put it to a vote first, or do you have another idea in mind? 4.) If continuing on with the next book in the series, do you have any discussion questions already prepared? 5.) How will you encourage other users to make observations and pose discussion questions?
Care of Magical Creatures Club
This will be a new club for the second term. We are currently open to ideas for how this club should be run!
Application for Care of Magical Creatures Club Captain: 1.) How often do you check our group forums? 2.) What style would this club primarily use? Roleplay? Discussion? Chat? Other? 3.) What are your plans for running the club? 4.) How do you plan to encourage members to participate? 5.) Do you plan to keep the magical creatures limited to the ones that are expressly mentioned in the books (including Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them)? Or do you plan to go beyond the canon and supplement with some others? 6.) If you plan to supplement, what resources will you be using? 7.) Will you try to incorporate the HOOT Club (Owl Enthusiasts) somehow? If so, how? If not, why?

If you have any particularly good ideas for how one of the clubs mentioned on the Club Interest list, now's your time to make it a reality! Submit a general application for a club and it may be chosen to start at the beginning of the term with the other 3 currently available clubs. If it's chosen based on your plans, you will also be made Club Captain.

House Points will never be awarded for clubs! I am, however, totally okay with you guys holding little contests/activities/etc. that would give tangible prizes such as items or sP. Totally not a requirement or anything, as this would be held by you and not by the cult.

We discussed this a bit when we first started doing clubs and decided to keep them in the Common Room forums for right now to cut down on how many ping groups we have and how many spots people have to check! I think just pinging members individually would work, though if you ever need me to do a quick ping to everyone that's posted on the thread, I'd be happy to do so!
