Hi, I'm just curious to see if there's anyone from Alberta or British Columbia, Canada?
I grew up in BC but have been living in AB for 3 years now. (",)

I know it doesn't count, but I can drive up to BC within 20 minutes from northwest Washington, where I live.
Silence is golden... Duct tape is silver.
I was born and raised in Alberta, and still live there :)
haha I don't think I know what's that far done there. xP
I lived in Salmon Arm for a bit, beautiful place. Me and hubby want to live there in our golden years ;) Have lots of family in Okanagan. :)
I live in a small town called Valleyview. I'm really not a Alberta fan.. to flat.. but this where the monies at. :x

I've spent nearly my entire life in Ottawa (born, raised, and currently live here =P), but I did spend a year living in Vernon, BC when I was 18/19. Absolutely beautiful, haaated living there (mostly 'cause everything and everyone I had ever known was well over 3000km away; plus I'm a city girl, so small towns don't mesh with me).
My entire dad's side of the family lives on Vancouver Island (Victoria and Nanaimo), though - so over the years we'd often spend our family vacations visiting them. =)
Washington State borders BC's southern border. I live about a 20 minute drive from BC's southern border line.

I wouldn't want to live in Vernon myself.. I went there one day cause they have some neat pet stores and people everywhere were fighting. It was crazy! I'm a farm girl.. so the smaller the town the better.. I really like me some moo-cows. lol xP
Yea, I can't recall if I've been to the island or not.. I think my cousin who had the wild deer lived there. They were so neat.. I think they were from China or something cause they were little and kept their spots/strips. :) I've been all over Vancouver tho'. Horrible city but lots of attractions.
PS Vernon isn't all that small to what I'm used to, lol.
[edit] I've only been as far as Saskatchewan.

Haha! I was wondering if someone was going to comment saying Vernon wasn't small. XD I guess it's all about perspective, eh? I mean, I even thought Kelowna was small, so take that for what you will. =P
The people there seemed nice enough; but maybe that's because I'm more accustomed to a larger city where, for the most part, people leave each other to go about their business. Don't get me wrong, we city folk are nice - just not a "small town" level of friendly, if you know what I mean. XD
The parts of the Island I've seen were all very beautiful, and I always love going back. Vancouver's okay; nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. But I have to admit, Whistler was always my favourite stop-off during our BC visits; though I haven't been back to that particular neck of the woods since before the Olympics got to it, so my memories of it are a little outdated.
The only provinces still left on my "to visit" bucket list are Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Newfoundland (Alberta too, if you don't count the 30min layover I once had at the Calgary airport =P). Haven't hit any of the territories yet, but they're on the list, too. =)
Haha, yeah! Everyone thinks differently. To me a small town is like the ones my parents are from. You blink and you can miss them completely. It was funny when we had tourists ask my sister how to get somewhere back home and she told them they had to go through 3 stop lights.. that to them was big, lol. xP
Yes I get what you mean. I also wasn't saying every city has horrible people.. that one was just awful. :/ Like yes people in cities seem to mind themselves but I like small towns.. as everyone knows everyone. Not so good for the no-gooders, lol :p But being able to chit-chat with anyone anywhere is nice. :) The small town I am now though doesn't seem to be that way. :( I would move back to BC if my husband didn't have such an amazing job here.
Never have been to Whistler myself. A little out of my price range and I don't do skiing and snowboarding or the white stuff required, lol.

I'm from Vancouver Island, but I've been living in Fort McMurray for 6 years now. It's not nearly as bad a place as people say.
I'm in AB! O: O: O: O:
lolll Fort McMurray is where I'm from, and I can't stand it. Mostly 'cause the infrastructure was adapted poorly to the popular booms/busts. We used to get regular sewage dumps from the water plant failing... It also used to take me 3 hours to get to school (in favourable weather conditions) - I lived in Gregoire growing up, and took public transit to Father Mercredi...

I think I have been to the Island when I was young but I don't remember. Fort McMurray I have never been too. My husband might have.. for work. idk
Sweet :D May I ask where? :)

I'm just south of Edmonton! (Technically Leduc)

OMG! I have been there. Specifically the Gee and Gee racing shop. :P

omg haha! I've only been here for a few years, but it's starting to get busy (lots of people who work in the oil field live here because it's cheaper and the airport is 15 minutes away) and I'm getting ready to move away (':

Yes, have been to the race track that is right beside the airport. My husbands boss races sprint cars and he would get us in for free.. for my husband to be part of his pit crew. It was fun.. but he now races in the states all the time. :(

I've only traveled as far as Saskatchewan in my 26 years. :(
