If I buy a book say from the book section Not direct to collections part will the book still go to my active pet.

If you buy it from the tab that says books, that is part of the direct to collection section and it will go to your active pet.

If you want it to go to your inventory, you have to buy it from the shop that it's part of (Pirates, Islander, Reading Drive). The sections that say "Books" or "Food" etc are all part of direct to collections and the price is half off the normal price.

Thanks I prefer to give my pet her books myself when I am ready to do so not have something just put there.

I can understand that, but for me at least the discount is worth it. Totally up to you though, now you know the difference at least.

The Reading is Fun! Folder is a book, but also an usable item which gives you 7 readable items. So you'll have to buy that standalone item as well.
